More digging into my favourite pieces for a 'buh-bye" before they get packed away.
The top, skirt and shoes will all go into storage for 6 months, under my bed.- Top - H&M, thrifted; first worn here in May with yellow and dots
- Skirt - Pierre Cardin, vintage 60s, vintage store, Vancouver; last worn here in July 2017 (yikes!)
- Shoes - Zoomies Ishshoes, Fluevog; last seen here in June with pink and blue
- Leather jacket (below) - Danier Couture, consignment; last worn here in April
I've only worn this top once since I got it, but it's a good shape, and I like the pattern. I decided to go for a little pattern-mixing.
Red polka dots are practically a neutral. They're always a good base for a melange of pattern.
The skirt is divine - pure silk, handmade (all sort of hand-stitching) in France (KLASSY). And vintage Pierre Cardin! I thought I'd worn it already this year, but nope, it's been over a year since last time. Just made it under the wire, but it's a total keeper!
I snazzed up the long skirt with ultra-modern white shoes. I do not give any flying...elephants!...about white after Labour Day or any of that prescriptive BS.
Jacketed - I wore the jacket to and from work only.
I got totally soaked in a
Zipped up.
I always feel like a badass spy in this jacket.
The stuff:
Despite my immense love for these shoes, they are indeed going to be packed away. I have lots of winter shoes and boots to wear - it's not like I'm going to run out of footwear!
Silver bling:
Most of this stuff will be packed away too - I tend to wear more gold and copper jewelry in the cooler months.
- Steel cuff - thrifted
- Bangle - local
- Crystal ring - Soul Flower
- Shield ring - Nine West
- Earrings - Plum
That skirt is absolutely gorgeous, Sheila! What a fabulous piece! Hope you're having a great week so far. XXX
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Sasha - and yes, you bet I am!
DeleteSo into the polka dots right now!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd pearls! Ha!
DeleteThat skirt is amazing on you, you look about six feet tall. SuperSheila! xxx
ReplyDeleteDo I? I always feel short in longer skirts!
DeleteGlad you could give the skirt a wear before you packed it away. I admit I'm a little jealous your seasons are so defined already - still doesn't' feel properly like spring here yet, I'm excited to shed all the layers but I still need them most days (especially with early starts!)
ReplyDeleteMe too - I really thought I'd already worn it! I'm really glad we have defined seasons - it does make for a more defined seasonal wardrobe. Your winter seems like our early spring/fall.
DeleteCan't believe you hadn't worn that skirt this Summer! It's gorgeous. I agree with Vix that it's making you look tall. Both the top and the jacket get my full approval too! A very elegant yet edgy outfit! xxx
ReplyDeleteI know, Ann, what was I thinking? Thank you so much!
DeleteSo much fabulousness in this look Sheila . I love the wallpaper print with the polkadots, and the lovely ribbon at your waist . Yes to white after Labor Day and to flying elephants! LOL.

DeleteLove the chic shoes.
ReplyDeleteThey are very "you", yes? Thanks, sweetheart.
DeleteGorgeous silhouette and I cannot believe that top has only been worn once before. This pattern mix is so clever Sheila. You're looking beautiful my friend.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lorena! I know - too many items, too little time.
