Another busy weekend ahead for me, so I want to sneak in one more post before I have to dash and get ready for a party!
I had fun with this olive jumpsuit last time I wore it, so I wanted to try it for fall.- Cardigan - Jacob, thrifted; last worn here with that great mixed wine outfit in March
- Jumpsuit - Gina Tricot, thrifted; first worn here in August with shades of chartreuse
- Shoes - Sofft, consignment; first worn here in May with velvet and a dress I let go
- Leather trenchcoat (below) - no label, vintage 70s; last seen here in March
Lesson learned: do not hold it if you have to pee when you wear a jumpsuit. Go right away!
*ahem*
Anyway, I loved wearing this again, although of course, the usual challenge with a jumpsuit...I had to take off the cardigan and the belt every time I went to the bathroom. Hang them over the stall door.
And then put them on again.
Repeat...Repeat...Repeat. I drink a lot of herbal tea and decaf coffee over the course of a day.
But I loved this rich green with burgundy accents. It's got pockets!
Outerwear, when it was raining.
- Bowler - Andre, via Roberta's Hats
- Silk scarf - vintage, Pierre Balmain, thrifted
- Gloves - Parkhurst
Outerwear 5 minutes later, when it stopped raining. I ditched the hat.
One of my coworkers was boggled that I was wearing leather in the rain. It's skin - it won't get ruined. This coat is nearly as old as I am, and it's holding up well (just like me!). Anyway, I felt pretty badass walking around outside in this.
The stuff:
Yup, these are definitely fall shoes. I wore knee highs for a little warmth.
Bronzy bling:
That belt is a prized possession. I once had an email from someone asking to buy it off me!
- Belt - Pringle of Scotland, vintage fair
- Bronze cuff - vintage 60s, Mom's
- Spiky cuff - Midzo, vintage fair
- Earrings - thrifted
- Spinner ring - Twang & Pearl
And now...off to make dinner and head out to a party...at the Museum!
I love the colours in your outfit, although the bathroom situation with jumpsuits would drive me crazy - too much to manage! haha.
ReplyDeleteIt's really not that bad, once or twice, but then it becomes quickly tiresome. Thanks, Mica!
DeleteI like how you wore the belt above the seam in the jumpsuit. Niiice. And a Museum party? Oh, that sounds like fun! You guys go to the best parties - and throw your own.
ReplyDeleteI put the belt where my waist is - no one tells me where that is! Thanks! Although I'm not so social most of the time, I do like a good event for dressing up!
DeleteReally love the outfit. You should have kept the bowler on it added the finishing touches and I know the Style Crone would agree. You make everything look great, so what can I say. I wish we had some thrift stores or consignment outlets around here. Hope you, L, and that sweet ball of fur have a splendid weekend
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Donna! I hate carrying a hat around if I don't need it, but thank you for the feedback. You don't have any second-hand stores?? How odd! I appreciate your kind wishes!
DeleteLove your outfit today you always look so good. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you again!
DeleteParty at the museum and leather raincoat---yes. Also, pain in the ass peeing in a jumpsuit---yes.
ReplyDeleteLol, and so we are agreed on all counts!
DeleteFabulous combination of colors, and clothing and accessories. I have never bought a jumpsuit, though I admire them--partly because I haven't found one to work with my long torso/short legs build, and partly because I can't imagine having the patience to deal with the bathroom situation! But I love the look. . .
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda! This is my first jumpsuit since 1984 - it took me a long time to take the plunge again!
DeleteLove the green and burgundy together, and with your hair it's just magic. My computer was being cranky and I think I missed out on wishing you a happy birthday, so many belated happies!
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks, JS! I appreciate the birthday wishes - it's Birthday Month, so not to worry!
DeleteOh yes, these colors look so good together Sheila and I can totally relate to those damn jumpers being a pain to wear, specially if you need to go to a public bathroom !
ReplyDeleteUgh, I wouldn't even try a public bathroom in a jumpsuit!
DeleteI adore this colour combination and will be trying it out myself one day. Jumpsuits look sleek and really pulled together, but dang, that dash to the loo is always a bit fraught isn't it? No matter how soon I start, I always end up a bit panic stricken!

Thanks! I love these colours together. Yes, I wish there was a better way, but we suffer for fashion sometimes.
