The day after a long weekend is the worst - no one is motivated, and everyone has turkey hangovers. I really didn't feel like getting dressed, so I made it easy on myself.
That usually means a dress, but I've never worn this top and bottom (purchased separately) together, so that's close enough.- Top - Lord & Taylor; last seen here in March with wine
- Skirt - Lord & Taylor; last worn here in October 2016 with mint wings, post-tattoo
- Booties - Kope Tiam Coffee, Fluevog; last seen here in March with that neckline dress
- Coat (below) - BCBG Max Azria, thrifted; last worn here in May with green floral
I liked the pieces together, but I like them more as separates. That's a lot of leopard. Ah well, you live and learn!
They are a wonderful fuzzy material - they remind me of that brushed flannel from the insides of the sleeping bags we had as kids.
I was comfy and didn't have to fuss with anything, so just like with jammies, I am good.
Outerwear:
Still clear and sunny out, but it's starting to get crisp - the trees are starting to change! I busted out my gloves!
- Leather/cashmere-lined gloves - Club Monaco, consignment
The stuff:
I hear pointy-toe ankle booties are a thing now. I've had these ones since March 2011 - about time fashion caught up with me!
Bronzy bling:
My two Edgar Allan Poe cuffs, and a random pair of earrings (the others were lost).
- Cuffs - Jezebel Charms, gifts from L
- Earrings - local
Oh, something's missing!
My rings!
- Amber ring - c. 1998
- Bronze ring - P. Sarpaneva, 1970s, vintage expo
Gloves! Fancy!
ReplyDeleteI am a fancy person!
DeleteI love the double leopard, Sheila! The Edgar Allan Poe cuffs are so cool! XXX
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sasha! I wield my cuffs like Wonder Woman!
DeleteThat's what I call a glamorous lounging outfit! Gorgeous amber ring and boots!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Gail!
DeleteI love the two pieces together and I certainly don't think it's too much leopard - it does look like a dress. I'm with you on dresses being just as comfortable as PJs too - I'm all about comfort dressing when it's cold and a dress is an easy way to do that! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mica! It felt fine when it was on, then it was "oh, that's a lot of leopard" when I saw the pictures. Comfort is key, though!
DeleteI love the coat and the outfit is lovely. How serendipitous you bought them separately; I think they were meant to be together...
ReplyDeleteWe're not quite ready for gloves yet over here.
Thank you! they were part of the same collection, but I got one piece, then the other was marked way down. I had to have them both!
DeleteI don't think this is too much leopard. It is still very toned down. Love the outfit, love the gloves with the fab coat and love the boots. You did very well my dear.
ReplyDeleteGreetje
Thank you, Greetje! Hee, toned down in leopard. Thank you!
DeleteI think the boots are perfect for this leopard on leopard look and have to agree that this isn't in the least too much - not for you sweetie!
ReplyDeleteAnna x
Thank you, Anna! Ha, not for ME.
DeleteWe all need a dress like that, one we can feel and look good in when we're stuffed ;)
ReplyDeleteStuffed? Ookay!
