Genuine GooKey Gucci Lace Bomber

I had a fun time all day, showing my colleagues the label in my lace bomber jacket: Gucci!
As I mentioned when I bought it on the weekend, it's not really Goo-chee Gucci. It's a fake, ergo GooKey Gucci.

  • Jacket - fake Gucci, thrifted; purchased here for $5.00
  • Skirt - Eddie Bauer, thrifted; first worn here in February with green peplum (a grape outfit!)
  • Shoes - Coffee Sumatra, Fluevog; last seen here in January with red and ruffles
  • Leather trenchcoat (below) - vintage 70s, thrifted; last worn here last Friday

I still had a lot of fun with the styling on this sweet green jacket. I wore a plain black t-shirt underneath it, and matched the dark green and red in the elastic trim to the green and red in the plaid of the skirt (it also has purple in it).

I loved this skirt last time I wore it, and loved it anew this time. The jacket + skirt together cost me all of $10.00.

We woke up to "the big dark" - a series of storms is predicted for the next few days. It was raining like crazy this morning, so out came my trusty leather trenchcoat and red hat. I hate carrying an umbrella and will always opt for a hat when I can.
I kicked myself later when I remembered I had bought a new floral silk scarf that would have gone great with this look (this one). Ah well. Next time!

  • Hat - vintage, thrifted in Vancouver
  • Gloves - Parkhurst
  • Fur scarf - Danier

The stuff:
I only wore these shoes twice last fall/winter, so I'm off to a good start! They are from Fluevog 2010/2011, do I'm still doing well on my cost-per-wear.

Pearly bling:
Inspired the gorgeous and amazingly stylish Elle at The Elle Diaries (linking 'cause I love - go check her out!), I busted out my pearls with my faux GooKey.

  • Necklace/Earrings - Aldo Accessories
  • Hematite ring - thrifted
  • Silver/stone ring - thrifted

  1. Elle is so stylish, I enjoy reading her blog too! :) I love how you've worn this lace bomber with the tartan skirt too, an unexpected but lovely pairing! I might have missed out on the bomber trend - I'll have to keep my eyes peeled in the opshops (I just went in and requested extra time off over Christmas. I deserve it and I might be able to get a bit of shopping done then while the boys continue their regular daycare days!).

Thanks for your sweet comment about my silk skirt too - it's actually not lined at all so I should be okay to handwash it :)

    1. She's so cool! Thanks, Mica! I don't really care about the trend, but this is a jacket style that suits me so I'm buying ones that I like now while I can still find them. Good for you for taking extra time off! I hope you do something nice for yourself with it - you deserve that. Good luck with the skirt!

  5. Green goes so well with your purple hair!

I love the outfit and the pearls are really gorgeous...

Hope the storm is not too bad - Ophelia missed us (thank goodness) but the weather is definitely colder; coat time for me.

    1. I know - I love popping colours off my hair. Thank you, Veronica. It's mostly raining and windy, which is not fun (especially with leaves clogging up the drains).

  6. Lovely colours! The lace bomber is cute, quite different and I hope we'll be seeing it again in another guise. The tartan skirt works beautifully though.
Weather is something we all seem to be getting a lot of lately. Wild winds are affecting our transport system leaving us marooned already and it's not even winter! Hey ho.

    1. Thanks, Anna! I had fun playing with it - and I'll definitely be trying it with something else in my wardrobe soon. Agreed, what is up with this crazy weather??
