Moany Monday (with Major Pink Plaid)

Feeling a bit moany and sorry for myself today - I am the only person I know who had to go to work today. Argle-bargle.
Take that, Monday! I'll fend off your fiendish frustrations with some mad plaid.

I've had this crazy plaid jacket for a couple of years - bought on consignment for $20.00 - and every year I think, "Yeah, it's time for this to go," and then I find other things to wear with it. And look! all the cool kids are wearing pastels this spring. I'm so cutting edge, ha!

I last wore it here in June 2013 with my red leather skirt.
I liked it better with this pinky-cherry-red skirt - the colour is a better "go" than an orange-y red. I last wore this skirt here (3rd outfit) in April with orange and purple (cray-cray!).

The insanely ruffly blouse is a J. Peterman one I picked up in a thrift store a couple of years ago; I last wore it here (2nd outfit) in July 2013 with my barnyard skirt.
Ruffles everywhere!

The stuff:
More cherry red goodness! I last wore my Sencha Teapots here in September 2013 with burgundy and pink. I gave them a good polish yesterday - they are getting a bit beat-up.

Bling things:
I wore the pin at the neck of the blouse.

Jacket (Tommy Hilfiger, consignment), blouse (J. Peterman, thrifted), skirt (Precis Petites, thrifted), shoes (Sencha Teapots, Fluevog), belt (Plum), pin (thrifted), Fulvia Ring (Wendy Brandes), earrings (don't remember).

  1. I had to work today, too. The US may be full of born-again Christians, but we don't get any extra time off for Easter.

That jacket is way cool! I could see you keeping it for years and years, and still loving it. And those Sencha Teapots are about the prettiest shoes I've ever seen! Ahhhhhh

  2. I'm glad you showed 'em with that plaid jacket. Defiance at its very best. Love that! I didn't notice too many shops closed down here today, so don't feel too bad.

  3. Love that jacket, glad you have kept it! It does pair very well with the skirt too, like you said.

Sorry you had to work, hope the day passed by quickly for you!

  4. I know what it's like to work when others are off playing. And I think you're quoting a U.S. Supreme Court Justice with your expression "Argle-bargle".... (Scalia wrote it last year in a big opinion.)

  6. I had to work - we get no time off in the US for anything though. My new boss is from Canada and he was shocked at how little time we get off!

    I love your plaid jacket!!

  7. Argle bargle indeed! Sucks when you're the only one working, but I'm sure you made it a fun day!
Love those T bars, that's one of my fave kinds of shoe!!! The plaid is magnificent. I don't have enough plaid in my life!

  8. That's a gorgeous outfit and I do love a cherry-pinky-red. The shoes are beautiful and they don't look worn.
