Cropped Top with Pencil Skirt (Cerulean, Red and Black)

If my Tuesday blog entries seem a little rushed going forward, it's because I have to get them done in 20 minutes, in order to get to my WW meeting on time. I can do it!
Another go at this lacey cropped top, and definitely liking it better with a pencil skirt.

Last time (here in March) I did it with a red plaid dress; this time, it's an actual pencil skirt. I have a vibrantly red silky polyester cami on under it, but I don't track wears on those.
"True blue, baby, I love you." It's not often I quote Madonna, but why not? I do love blue!

This gorgeous handmade cerulean blue pencil skirt (thrifted, of course) was last seen here in March with a floral blouse.
It must have been a "dead old lady" skirt - I can't imagine someone giving this up willingly. Oh wait, yes, I can. Duh, Sheila, you're a WW member; you know exactly why this could have been donated! I've donated my fair share of amazing clothes due to weight gain (and loss).

The stuff:
I clomped about quite a lot in these today. One of my coworkers said to me (as I was hauling around boxes of printer toners and drum units), "Sheila, you have the most physical job of anyone here, and you do it in heels!"

But they have to be comfy heels! And these lovely red suede and patent beauties are that. I last wore them here in February for Valentine's Day (yes, of course I wore red and pink - scads of it!).

The stuff:
Blue and red bling, with a soupcon of silver.

Not bad. I knocked this post out in 10 minutes!

Top (Forever 21, consignment), cami (Spense, thrifted), skirt (no label, thrifted, vintage 80s), shoes (Marc), cuff (Rimanchik), earrings (local), Fulvia Ring and lapis lazuli ring (Wendy Brandes).

  1. Those ARE amazing heels, and an amazing color scheme. I love using black with bright-ass colors. I thought for a half-second I might get to venture back into heels thanks to my new job, but no way!! I've done everything from moving boxes, running around constantly, standing, sitting, moving heavy flags (roadside ones) inside and out most days! It's always a surprise so I keep on comfy feet.

  2. Not bad at all! Love the colours, and those shoes should win a Comfy Heels prize for being both fabulous and functional! xxx

  3. Love the way you worked the cropped top, and you're right about the skirt -- too good to give up. I have to get speedier at my posting, you're an inspiration. xo

  4. Love the blue and red colors! I was just talking about my desire for more color on my blog today - I think it has something to do with spring!

  5. I had to look up cerulean - not a word I've come across before. I love the way you put it with red and the crop top works so well.
Educational and inspirational and all in 10 minutes - you're a marvel. .

  6. I love the lines of this outfit! I love the cropped top for it's lacey look and it's shape. I think a cropped top always looks fabulous with a higher ( or normal ) waisted pencil skirt. Those shoes are to die for! I always get burning balls ( of my feet that is ) when I wear heels higher than 2 inches but I would definitely want to wear those.
