Dishwater Blonde Disaster

When I dried my hair after rinsing all the dye out last night, I cursed a blue streak. I HATE THIS COLOUR. Really. Hate. This. Colour.
Bad bad bad colour on me. I can't redo it tonight (I have my WW meeting), so I have to live another day with this awfulness on my head, but then I am going back to RED. I don't feel "me" as a blonde, although it was fun to play with.

So please, hold your hand over my head for these pictures and pretend that my hair looks good. Don't even try to sweet-talk me about it - I know it looks bad. It's a horrid colour for my skin tone.

Let's move on, shall we? I like this blouse and I like these shoes. More purple!
Vizzini in for a blurry visit
I wore the blouse three times in the February 2012 capsule (recap here). The shoes were last worn here in February 2013 with even more purple.
This is the second wear of the olive suede skirt (last done here with a white/grey leopard cardi and a pop of yellow). I am still liking it - no issues with it today. Your thoughts?

These are one of my favourite pairs of shoes. They are fabulously comfortable and an amazing dusty purple.
This necklace is getting a little worn, but I still really like it.

Blouse (The Limited, thrifted), skirt (Danier Leather, thrifted), shoes (Camper), belt (Nygard), necklace (Plum).

  1. Awww no! So sorry Sheila. Ash-blonde is not a good color on you. But you can change it! I liked the bright blonde and I think red is totally you. I think you and I both just look better with "bright" hair.

I really love the color of those shoes. It's such an unusual color. The only other pair I've seen in that color is the Fluevog Dig boots (in pretty much 3 years of hunting)... which btw I just bought those particular boots off the FlueMarket!

  2. Still loving your blog...isn't it funny how when your hair just isn't quite right, you don't quite feel like yourself. I'm going through that as well. Getting my haircut tomorrow and so looking forward to it being more me again....

  3. OK, not your best hair color - we have *all* been there, my friend. When I went red (ever so briefly) I think I was on the internets all night looking for "how to remove color from hair." : o

Your outfit is great - that olive skirt is perfect in fit and shape and everything else. Crazy for the shoes too.

  4. Won't try to talk you out of it, but it isn't awful. However, no matter what color you were born with, you were meant to be a red-head. Kind of a boy being convinced he should have been a girl. But a lot cheaper to fix! Me too! A red-head,I mean. Gender worked out fine.

  5. I know you don't like the "dirty blond" color, but it is not as horrible as you think! Still, I do love your hair in the red tones--it will be fun to see that return.

Love the olive green skirt. And the rest of the outfit.

  6. I really liked the blonde but what happened? did you try to dye it another colour yourself? You are mos def best as a red head though!

I love the skirt, a definite keeper, as are those campers. Love that mauve colour.

  7. The second picture shows a bit more colour than the first, but if you don't love it, you don't love it! I'm going to remember this outfit... even if you don't want to remember the hair!

  8. I'm sorry you hate your color. I don't think its dishwater...it looks honey to me. :)

  9. I agree. I missed your red hair; although, you look cute as a blonde, too.

  10. Love love this outfit! All the pieces and the effect as a whole. I liked your red hair best, I think. You seem to gravitate toward "redhead" colors and combos (I'm a strawberry blonde and have a similar palette in my own closet!), and I think the warm reddish tones really compliment you.

  11. Not trying to change your mind at all, I do love you as a redhead, but I kinda like the soft honey colour, Sheila!
The blouse and skirt look great together, and the shoes are a delicious colour. xxx

  12. Shame your hair didn't turn out the colour you wanted it! I'm sure it will look great when it is finished though :)

Really like your printed blouse! :)

  13. I love the blouse--such vibrant colors!! I've taken your lead and picked up an olive ponte pencil skirt to use as a neutral.

I've had some real hair-DON'TS in the past (dark brown I'm lookin' at you) You do look better as a red-head. It just fits your style!!

  14. I don't think it is so bad, but if you're not comfortable then definitely go for a change. That is the beauty of hair dye right? :)

I love that necklace! And I love the kitty photo bomb as usual!

  15. I am never anything but honest- it doesn't look bad at all, but it is mos definitely NOT you. You look fine but there lacks the pizazz, the gingered specialness that is the Sheila experience. I am glad you are going back to red. Blonde is ok, but red is better.

  16. Sheila, you are always beautiful, and this is a great outfit to go with a duskier blonde, but you really are a redhead. I will welcome you back to the Fiery Power Reds Club with open arms!

  17. I like the olive skirt. I would not have thought to pair it with purple. Going to have to try that combination.

  18. I have to agree - you are a red, saucy, sizzling red head :)
in fact when you post older pictures and i see you in dark hair it does not look like you - i guess i m just use to seeing you sport that red so well.

  20. So funny how emotional we can get over our hair. I once decided to Frost my hair the night before a big job interview. I ended up wearing a beret to the interview because my hair turned out white straw... I got the interview because I whipped the hat off at the end and confessed my blunder. When the interview panel stopped laughing they hired me. I went back to my natural brownish red and never looked at a hair-frosting kit again. So..... you'll feel so much better when you get your hair the color you want back..

  21. Am a little late to say - I am glad you are returning to red! My favourite colour on you.. And Camper shoes, hurrah. My favourite shoe brand ever (it is all about favourites, it seems). Though it may change if I had a Fluevog near me...
