Aug 7th - Outfit #7 - A Lot of Lime

It's so tough to get back into the swing of things after a long weekend. But oh well. Here we go, another week.
This is a new-to-me thrifted top (bought here for $5.00 in June), and these are my new-to-me consignment linen Smoking Lily pants (bought here in April for $28.99). I love the abstract dragonflies on the top.

The shoes are fantastic: I love the colour, the fit and the soft lime green suede. I thrifted them back in June 2010 for $6.00. I've also worn them  here (July 2010), here (2nd outfit, July 2010), here (Sept 2010, in possibly my worst outfit ever!), here (May 2011), here (2nd outfit, July 2011), here (3rd outfit, Aug 2011), and here (Sept 2011).

I'm now at 9 wears, so that's less than $1.00 per wear! Woo!

I was a little leery of linen pants, but they've held up well all day.
They have a really loose D-ring closure (and they don't have a fly, so I have to pull them over my hips...eee...tight), and they sit quite low. I didn't have much choice about wearing this shirt loose overtop.

I focused on the accessories:
I look like a major dork there
Steampunk cuff, vintage amber/sandalwood choker, wood hoop earrings, and a Megan Mae buttonflower.

Blouse (Song, thrifted), pants (Smoking Lily, consignment), shoes (Circa Joan & David, thrifted), earrings (Le Chateau), necklace (Mom's, vintage 70s), buttonflower (gift from Megan), cuff (SkinzNHydez).

Bonus: I got photobombed by my neighbour this morning.
I don't think he saw the camera, just me sitting there. Awkward! But what great shoes he has...

  1. Love this combo! The linen pants are too cute. The buttonflower works awesomely on that neckline. (Btw mind if I snag the top photo for Sew Sunday?)

The pants remind me of a pair that I keep running across in Goodwill, they're lime green with a sailor-style waist and somebody keeps putting them in the small section despite them being an XL.

Eep! About the neighbor, but the first thing I did notice was his shoes.

  2. Ha! That last photo is priceless. Your neighbour does have great shoes! Your influence perhaps? The dragonflies are sweet - those bugs have really been on my mind lately. I like those colours and pattern a lot.

  3. Wow, your neighbor looks like rather a galumphing photo bomber in this pic, but I have to forgive all for someone who is wearing what looks like purple shoes?

Your shoes are perfect and I want them. Bad :P Love your fun earrings, and linen pants. I like linen, no matter how much it wrinkles. Maybe because it's wrinkled :P

    1. Yes, those are purple shoes - he's an artsy type.

Thanks! I am new to the whole linen thing, so we'll see how it goes.

Your celery shoes are yummy and I see I'm not the only one using that adjective. ;)

  8. The last photo is so funny - poor neighbour not realising he was interrupting a photo shoot!

Really like the print on your top :)

  9. Great colors! The top is fun without being over the top. And you can never go wrong with a MMD buttonflower!

Your neighbors shoes are awesome! And too funny that he just walked right on by and didn't notice the camera!

  10. Lime and wine - sounds like somebody was thinking about sangria? I am stealing this color combo, as they are two of my favorites but I've not worn them together. Amazing that I didn't think of it sooner since red and green are complimentary colors. I'm going to expand and consider shades/tones of complimentary colors to broaden the options. Love the blog, dearie!

  12. Hahahah, I am laughing at the neighbor photobomb- like his shoes.
I am always worried that the neighbor (he's a Doctor) that parks next to me sees me taking pictures of myself - the other day I surprised HIM when he was taking a picture of himself in the elevator haha :)

  13. You look adorable...great outfit! I want some of that dragonfly fabric for quilting.

Apparently, your neighbor's attending clown college! :)

  14. Maybe your neighbour *does* know you have a blog, and is desperate to be part of it?

    Lovely mix of colours today!
