Red Hat - Christmas Party!

Last night was my company's staff Christmas party. It was at a swanky hotel, and it was pretty fun. I like when events like that are semi-formal, so you get to see everyone dressed up.

I debuted my other new hat by Tierre Joline:
This is also the debut of my long black satin skirt, which I picked up on my Value Village shopping trip for $9.99. The brand is Tadashi Shoji for Saks Fifth Avenue - he specializes in formal wear. Compared to the dresses on the Saks website, I'd guess this skirt was at least $200 new. Score!

The top is a vintage one I've had for a few years. I like that the back scoops low.
I haven't worn this for a while (it's been moved out of my main closet into the archive closet). I wore it previously here in October 2010, here in August 2009 and here in April 2009.

Although the top has gold lame woven into it, I mixed my metals with big gold earrings and silver shoes:
Vizzini watches
The top has red, orange, yellow and pink in it, so I did the yellow bangle and hot pink tights. Fun!
The hat has the coolest details - I love the orange feathers!

My outerwear:
We walked to the party and back. I actually stowed my shoes and purse in another bag, rolled up the waist of my skirt and wore runners and socks. Comfort! Unfortunately, I lost my gloves somewhere during the night.

The shoes and purse:
I love getting to wear those shoes for parties. They're just not work-appropriate.

Here's a better look at the hat:
Isn't it fabulous?

Tierre's label:
Top (Style Rite, vintage), skirt (Tadeshi Shoji for Saks Fifth Avenue, thrifted), shoes (Jessica Simpson), coat (vintage, thrifted), hat (Tierre Joline), gloves (Parkhurst), scarf (Danier, thrifted), purse (Accessorize).

Vizzini watched me take pictures.
He looks very intense.

On Saturday morning, I went to my WW meeting:
It was beautiful and sunny, so I got a shot on the stairs.

I haven't worn this dress for a while.
Instead of showing the wrap ties, I put a stretchy wide belt over them.

My outerwear:
All coordinated!

Dress (BCBG Max Azria, thrifted), belt (Plum), boots (Roberto Vianni), leather jacket (Le Chateau, consignment), scarf (Danier, thrifted), gloves (Parkhurst), bag (Mat & Nat, consignment).

Are you ready for Neutrals Week? I've got my Black outfit planned for tomorrow!

Sorry to hear about the AWOL gloves, that's very sad.

I'm lovin' the larger photos. Have I said that yet? I mean to every time I comment, and can't remember if I have.

Love the fabulous dress, that print is really cool. It looks great with the white leather and sci-fi boots.

  11. Love all the elements of the party outfit but I especially love the surprise of the pink tights. I'm glad I'm not the only one losing gloves (sigh).

  12. So much awesome in this post!

    First:

Your semi-formal outfit is fantastic. The hat is the perfect touch, makes it so YOU!

    Second:

Your red coat is to DIE for. I've been looking for a nice new winter coat for a while now, and thought that I was going to get a Camel coloured wool London Fog trench coat with a detachable fur collar, but I might need to go back to the drawing board now that I've seen how fabulous your red coat is!

    Third:

White. Leather. Jacket. You're so fabulous.

    Have a great Monday.
