Invasion of Dress Week! Blue Hipster (and Some Good News)

It's Dressember! And that calls for a Dress Week!

Check out my other Dress Weeks in the sidebar, if you're interested. Don't forget to check out Patti's Visible Mondays too!

First, some exciting news! The marvellous Wendy Brandes has another fab fashion article on the Huffington Post, and I'm in one of the pictures! Thank you, Wendy!

Okay, are we all calm? Let the Invasion begin!
After all the neutrals of the last week, I needed some colour - stat! This is my blue dress that I picked up a few months ago.

I liked how it looked with the purple drapey cardi:
I found these micro-fishnet and lace tights at Winners last Friday. Awesome pattern, excellent quality, but EXTREMELY annoying...because they are hipster tights! They sit at my hip instead of going to my natural waist. By the end of the day, I wanted to cut them off with scissors. I was constantly adjusting!

My outerwear:
Prince is coming to town this weekend (I wish I were going!) - I think his Purple Highness would approve.

The stuff:
See? I like neutrals! These boots and this belt were perfect to complement the bright colours.

The sparkly bits:
My good ol' 3-strand necklace. This belt is getting quite stretched out.

Cardigan (Bobeau), dress (Just...Taylor, consignment), tights (Winners), boots (Libby Edelmann), belt (Gap), necklace (Plum), earrings (gift from Mom).

I mentioned the exciting news, but I have really good news: L started a new job today! He's been out of work since May, so this is a big relief right in time for Christmas! 2012 is going to be an awesome year!

  5. Congratulations on L's new job! And a very merry Dressember to you, as well. Nice to be back in colours after Neutrals Week, for sure. I like the blue & purple combo very much.

I also have exactly the same belt from Gap, although I've only worn it once, because I've had some trouble styling it. I like the way you've got it working with your lovely colours here.

  6. Woohoo, congrats to L!
I really like the color combos here; the dusty purple and that great dusty tan with the cobalt blue works very well.

  7. Congrats on L's new job!

Also that is a FAB cardi in every way! Fab on you and fab in itself. If you ever get tired of it there's a happy home for it down here in Australia LOL!

Glad to see you in colour again too - your outfits this week were nice but they just didn't seem YOU somehow.

  9. Congratulations on your husband new job, I wish him good luck!

Beautiful dress, and a very smart way to combine it with this cardi. I wish I could participate in the Dressember, but - alas - too few winter-autumn dresses in my wardrobe. Perhaps it's time to do something about it :)
