Casual Friday - Pink, Cat in the Sink, and My Office

Happy Friday! I woke up feeling quite sick this morning, but managed to get through my workday. I hope this doesn't develop into a full-blown cold, because I have a big party to go to tomorrow night!

Today, my usual Casual Friday:
Vizzini looks so surprised
I love this jacket - it just sucks everything in so nicely. I haven't worn this skirt in far too long, and I was reminded how much I love it, and how nice it looks on.

It makes my butt look good, too. Heh.
I also haven't worn these shoes (last outfit) in ages. One of my colleagues loves purple, and she squealed when she saw them.

Yvonne at Book Club (hi, hon!) requested that I show my outerwear, because frequently and especially at this time of year, that's all people see. I try to coordinate my outerwear to what I'm wearing or at least create a cohesive look.
The blue coat really popped off the skirt. The little pink fuzzy toque was not quite right, but oh well. It was warm!

The stuff:
I love those shoes, but they don't stay on my feet very well. I should get some heel grips for them.

That's my pink sweater that I wore here (2nd outfit).

A close-up of my necklace:
My usual chain, with a feather charm on it.

Coat (Mario Serrani), jacket (Bisou Bisou, consignment), sweater (Reitman's, consignment), skirt (Vivienne Tam, consignment), shoes (Friis & Co.), hat (Redux, consignment), gloves (InWear).

Vizzini was being so cute this morning, I couldn't resist taking a picture of him.
He likes to sit in the sink while I do my make-up. I usually let the tap drip for him. He plays with the water and licks it.

As I'm not doing any Christmas decorating at home this year, I thought I'd show you what I did at work. This is my desk:
I've blurred out my company's name and logo. I'm the first thing people see when they get off the elevator.

I set up this little table with a lit tree.
I decorated it with blues, greens and silver.

I also did a tree on the top of my desk:
It's all red and gold.

And here's our main tree:
Our company's name is on the star, so that's blurred out as well. Our colours are red with white accents, so the lights are white and red, and most of the ornaments are red. I was quite pleased with it (it looks better in person).

Have a great weekend!

  2. That skirt is magnificent! I just love the brocade, and the color is lovely. (I'm a lurker and have been reading your blog for more than a year, but I think this may be the first time I've commented!)

  3. My cat Pepper only drinks from the running tap...nice to know there are cats like her not too far away!

  4. Oh Sheila, you're making me so jealous! My new office super casual, and even your casual Friday outfits would be seen as way too fancy for even a day where we meet with clients. I'm going to live vicariously through you for a while, ok?!

  5. You are the tree-queen -- so beautifully done. I love your pinks and purples (esp those killer shoes), and of course a cat in the sink makes any day better : >

  6. Love those shoes - id have squealed too! Your decorations are beautiful - I have serious tree envy :-). (S is threatening to decorate our tree himself this year - I'm very very concerned!)

  7. Omg - jacket love! It's perfectly tailored. You know I always love your brocade pieces. I don't know how you're wearing those pumps though - brr!

Silly Vizzini! Sammycat (mom's male black one) drinks only from the faucet when he can help it. He follows everyone to the bathroom, and if you turn on the tap for him, he sits and drinks and drinks! He does drink from the bowl sometimes, but I think he prefers the running water.

Lots of cute trees. Thanks for showing us your workplace!

  8. Hi Sheila: I read your blog everyday! You are an inspiration. I am a retired 71 year-old, so do not need clothes for work, but trying to dress casual, yet look smart and not too young, takes some effort!
We just had a VVs open here in Courtenay, so I have done some great shopping, and I often think what would Sheila think of this little number.
    Thanks for sharing. Peg

Mommyblogger, thanks! It was a great find at Winners last year.

Lady Harriet, thank you so much for de-lurking and commenting - I adore the skirt as well.

Leslie, that's so funny - I love when cats do those quirky things.

Cara, I'm reception, so I have to look nice no matter what day it is! But yes, feel free!

    Thanks, Patti!

Ha, thanks, Tat! Aw, give S a chance.

Megan, yeah, it's got just the right amount of stretch in it. The pumps weren't cold at all (it doesn't get that cold here). Hee, Sammycat sounds so funny.

Peg, nice to see you again! Ooh, I might have to stop at that VV next time I'm in Courtenay! Thank you so much for your kind words.

Debbi, thank you! It's quite dressed up for our office, but everyone's just used to me now.

    Thanks, Ariane!
