Anyway, I wanted to wear something powerful so that I could use my favourite motto: Fake It Till You Feel It! What's more powerful than some wicked heels and polka dots?
Some vintage Grandma J accessories lent me her power as well.
That's my new spotty top from my trip - it was a whopping $3 in a thrift store.
Obligatory WW pose:
And because I am Powerful, I wore my copper cuff to ward off Corporate Evil (fortunately, there wasn't any - my corporation is actually pretty decent).
The stuff:
These shoes make a lot of noise when walking on tile. I deliberately stomped around, making my presence known. Heh.
A close-up:
That's all Grandma J's jewelry. Those earrings are ones I remember Grandma wearing - they have heavy wear patterns on the back. I think I last wore them here. Hey, they are called the "Galaxy" earrings - this site has a ton of Renoir pieces - and there's my cuff down at the bottom (with enamel). My necklace isn't stamped, nor are its earrings, but looking at all those necklaces and the chain/ball/hook closures, I am pretty sure it's Renoir as well.
Top (Majora, thrifted), cami (Esprit), skirt (Ann Taylor, thrifted), shoes (Guess), necklace and ring (vintage 40s, Grandma J), earrings (Matisse by Renoir, Grandma J), cuff (Renoir, Grandma J).
What an adorable outfit. The top is cute (I love its sleeves) and the white skirt presents it beautifully. And the shoes are great. And the jewelry is nice.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving your outfits more and more lately. I don't know if it's your style developing or my appreciation growing, but I'm finding your posts to be the most appealing of the many sites I visit. Plus, you seem like such a nice person!
You look fab, and the corporate world can suck it. For now, at least. I'm so sorry you're losing your job. That sucketh, big time.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, however, that I'm excited to "see" what the professional world will offer you next.
For now, bring on the power ensembles and the close-ups of all that gorgeous "stuff"!
What beautiful jewelry - all making a strong statement against what appears to be Corporate Evil.
ReplyDeleteIn the old Bible story of Joseph, he says to his brothers YEARS after their betrayal of him, "You meant it for evil; but God intended it for good."
I hope God's good intentions for YOU unfold in surprising ways! Let all the beautiful outfits you wear continue to be accurate reflections of the beauty within--even in the difficult days between now and November 12.
Wishing you luck and sending support with finding a new job. You'll find what you need.
ReplyDeleteI love all the jewelry. The necklace is my favorite. It's great that they're pieces that have been passed down to you as well.
you can really wear those 'sleeves cut in one piece with the bodice' looks so well! i love that idea and the way it looks, but it's a complete disaster on this body.
ReplyDeletewe're sending strong good thoughts up your way. (even the bouch - he can tell a cat positive household from miles away!)
