The 2nd Annual Capsule Wardrobe Challenge! Day 3

Day 3, in which items being to make their repeat appearances...the long cardigan returns, as do the red Fluevogs.

I felt very Parisienne in this. Oui, oui! I had the scarf tied and pinned a bit better at work (I pinned it through the scarf onto the shirt underneath to keep it from sliding around my neck), but I was lazy when I got home and had to put all the clothes back on again. Very tiresome, some days.

The orange skirt makes its only appearance this week (I could totally do many more days with these pieces). I liked how it went with the plummy red of the shoes.

And no, I don't have tattoos on my legs - those are nylons with printed designs running up the sides of my legs. Wild, eh? They go from the foot right up to the top of the panty. Amazing what you can find in the bargain bin at the Bay.

The stuff:
My lovely thin cashmere/cotton t-shirt. I am adoring this belt, too. It's so versatile, and the colour is ...elephant grey. These earrings were a poor choice - one of my ears is getting sensitive to jamming these in twice a day.

  1. I love how the "mood" or inspiration behind each outfit has been different for every day of your challenge. I can't wait to see how you respond to the rest of the week! Every day is so different yet totally fabulous.

  2. I so miss my striped top and yes, you do look very French. Great tip about the scraf - I will try it out next time.
Shame you will not wear the skirt again this week - I love the cut and colour.

  3. Man, every day just gets better! I love the ooh-la-la Parisienne flair to this, and that red skirt is the bomb-diggity! Cute little flounce at the hem.

  4. Thanks, Wendy! I don't have any tattoos (yet), so it's fun to fake 'em.

Kari, thank you - I am so glad they are coming out like that - all that planning paid off.

I love this striped top - it's easily one of my favourites. Oh, I'll wear that skirt again, no worries. I love it in the winter.

Kristen, oh, you are too kind! Heh, I felt like I should have been carrying a baguette! The skirt is actually orange tweed - the hem has box pleats all around it.

  5. Tres chic! The orange with the stripes has a bit of a nautical feel to it as well.

  7. Thanks, Tina! I actually saw this skirt in a size 16 in a thrift shop yesterday and was excited to discover that it's a Talbots piece, in silk and wool.

  9. Tina, I'll see if I can pop in there next week (I have Friday off and it's close to my house) - if it's still there, I'll buy it for you. I think it was only $7.

  10. OMG!!! You are too sweet!!! I was just being jealous, not trying to drop a hint. Having said that, if you have the time and inclination, that would be so amazing, but I do not want you to go out of your way AT ALL. And of course I would pay you back for the cost and shipping too.

  11. No problem - the shop's only open short hours, but if the skirt is still there on Friday, I'll grab it. We'll take it from there. :)
