Mish-Mash - Teals and Browns

Another outfit I'm not super thrilled with - it all seemed much better when I put the pieces together than it does on:
I planned it all around my new brooch, but without the brooch on the front of the outfit, it just didn't quite gel properly. Too much of the turtleneck with the longer jacket (which looks better done up), and then the tights looked more blue than the green, and then the skirt is just a big puddle of colour. And the boots - while fabulous - don't really work with the outfit.

But I was warm, dammit! It was so cold today.

I wore the brooch on the back, which I still think is a marvelous way to wear one. Pretty skirt...mmmm....painty colours...

The stuff.
Sorry, no picture of the boots today.

Jacket (RW & Co.), turtleneck (Smart Set), belt (Le Chateau), skirt (Nine West), tights (don't recall), boots (Miz Mooz), brooch (already forgot), ring ("Sarah Cov.", vintage), earrings (vintage).

  1. I love how you added the brooch to the back of the outfit. It's like a little surprise.

  2. I really your color combination, and adding the brooch to the back is a really great idea.

  3. I love the idea of wearing a brooch in back, but imagine it digging into me when I'm sitting in my chair!

  4. Thanks, Hillary - I think I stole the idea from Kasmira. :)

    Thanks, Wendy!

Thanks, Diane, I feel like I just missed the mark, though.

Sal, it didn't dig at all - I did the brooch at the small of my back. I forgot it was there for most of the day.

  5. Love the colors of your skirt. I don't care for the tights with your outfit. I think it was just too much color going on.

  6. Thanks, Lucy. Yeah, I wish they were a different colour too. Oh well, it's all about trying new things.
