Phew, today was a full one! I worked my four hours in the morning, went for a bit of a browse around some less-frequented second-hand shops, then got changed for dinner out followed by our last play of the season at the Belfry Theatre.
I'm dog-tired, so let's get started. Day 2 at the office!
I'm still operating at reduced hours, but we have a special work event with guests from Head Office this week, so I'm accommodating my hours so that I can attend the shindig and not have the office appear "unguarded" (rar!) when they enter my domain (Reception).

We're having gloriously warm and sunny weather - it feels like a dream.
I don't usually get to wear thin silk tops this early in the season!
I bookended this funky blouse with matching shoes.
I love this chartreuse green shade.
I liked the big honkin' heels to anchor the cropped flared velvet trousers.
I liked the velvet crops quite a bit - they were super comfy all day.
Jacketed - this is a thin nylon jacket that zips both ways.
It's a Stella McCartney collaboration with Adidas, and this is the piece that started my "Weird Adidas" collection. The pattern is daisies with yellow-green centers. I was roasted hot in this on the way home.
The stuff:
I ran some errands and had a look around some of the shops I don't usually go to very often - I changed into socks and my Geox for that. These shoes are pretty comfy, but not for a 3+ hour shop!

The hot weather has me thinking about sandals and summer flats - I got rid of a bunch of my old shoes that were getting ragged and worn out. So I was kind of on a mission.
This...is not a pair of shoes. It's a dress? Tunic? I found this at Upcycle Vintage, a curated vintage store that has a lot of ugly 90s and 00s clothes. But every so often there's a gem.
"Is it for me to sleep on?"
It's that sporty vibe I like, and it was marked down to $16.00.
It's got pockets! I'm not sure how long this will last in my closet, but I'd been in 4 stores and found nothing. Oh, I was also keeping an eye out for L, as his birthday is coming up.
I did find something at Upcycle for him, but I won't be showing it!
This tunic thing is by Dazzle. I couldn't find out anything about it online, except that it's a Japanese brand (the content tags are in Japanese).
I had a good browse through Flavour Upstairs - I found another gift for L and this belt for me.
I like the big buckle and the cool print.
It has a tiny bit of wear.
Some of the scales are lifting off.
Scales? This can't actually be...real python?
Oh, but it is! The brand is called Leather of the Sea, this is from the 80s and they specialized in eelskin and stingray leather. Zoiks.
This was $19.99 which is very good for a leather belt, python or not.
It'll match my snoots (snake print boots).
I had tried these on at Upcycle, and had put them back...but I was still thinking about them once I'd moved on, so I actually went back for them.
I love the metal studs, and that white is all leather.

And that is one massive sole!
Oh, they are Dr. Martens, aka Doc Martens, aka Docs.
They have the "Air Wair" soles - very comfy!
They have almost no wear on them at all.
That's what I look for when I buy shoes.
They were sized wrong as size 8, but are a Euro size 39, which is closer to a 9 (I wear 9-9.5 - I have big feet!).
They were $112.00 - they're called the Voss and retailed for $150.00, so I'm good with what I paid. I am excited to wear these - I'd better get out the nail polish and do my toes! I predicted to myself that L would hate these...and I was correct. "Those are hideous," he said.
I had a good poke through Vintage After Death, and came away with this marvelous red leather skirt.
It's a very long pencil, almost mid-calf, very much a 1986-7 length.
Which fits right in with this union label.
And clothes were still made in Canada then too.
That's a REALLY early CA number.
And it confirms that this was manufactured by the Boutique Bagatelle Company of Montreal
I went up under the lining to make sure that it was actually leather.
Yup, sure is.
It has a gorgeous "lava" texture.
It looks orange there, but I blew the colour out to show the detail.

That's a modern size 10, so right before the Great Size Shift of the late 80s.
$34.00 is a BARGAIN.
The cost of second-hand leather goods seems to be creeping up. Have you noticed this too?
I walked home, dripping with sweat (also carrying a bin of cat litter), and quickly changed into something else.
Let's see, dinner, then a couple of hours of sitting. I'm going for comfort and colour.

I left on the pale pink cami that I'd layered under my silk top (which is drying on the deck after washing, 'cause I sweated in it, ugh).
Changed into my most stretchy dress.
Toss on this massive and snuggly yellow cardigan.
Wear some toe-covers and match the yellows with the shoes.
Without the cardigan. I took it off briefly at the restaurant - I was very glad I had it, as I got chilled later. I'm a delicate flower!
I walked down to Fernwood and met up with Nancy, Yvonne, Randall and we had dinner at Stage, which was fabulous.
Incognito - not required by the time the play let out. It was our last show of the Belfry season, "Old Stock" (local review
here), and it was wonderful, full of music, laughter and tears.
That's how I like my theatre!

And now it's late and time for bed. Ugh, I have to go to work again! So unfair!
I was happy to find this lovely knit duster matched these regret-me-not trousers that I'd hastily put up for grabs and snatched back before the Winesday Women went at the pile.
Which is...a lot! They don't wrinkle, they fit great and I have loads of pink, purple and burgundy in my wardrobe. 
I've been hauling all the leftover clothing giveaway items to my office all week, and will be distributing them to my favourite coworkers. There are 7 ginormous bags of clothes and shoes, and they're heavy!
I lasted about a block on the way home before shucking my scarf and gloves. 
I tend to drop the this picture in the summer, and include my few accoutrements in the "Stuff" picture. 
Pops of pink. These shoes are a firm favourite. 
I used to refer to the clear crystal ring as my "Death Star" ring as it's shaped like the cone of lasers that blow up Alderaan in Star Wars (showing my full nerd cred).
