Red Leopard and Wine Leather

I'm at the point now where I'm jonesing for spring clothes. I don't want to wear darks - I want colour!
So of course, I wore all dark colours!

  • Blouse - Topshop, thrifted; purchased here for $15.00
  • Skirt - Jez of Montreal, vintage 80s, thrifted; last seen here in October 2023 with my ribcage sweater
  • Shoes - Queen of Prussia Louise, Fluevog; last worn here in March 2023 with this same skirt
  • Coat (below) - Danier Leather; last seen here in February

Castle view with the sun coming up.
I love that peachy light, don't you? The Garry Oaks are fuzzing out at the tips, as leaflets start to uncurl.

So, yes, dark colours! I wanted to wear this red leopard blouse before packing it away until fall - it definitely doesn't fit in with my generally very bright spring/summer wardrobe.
And it goes so well with the wine leather skirt - I had to wear them together.

I loved the elasticated sleeves on the top, and the ruffled cuffs.
They didn't get in the way - I did not drag them through my soup!

I felt very classy all day in this combination.
I even broke out the heels for this long pencil skirt, to help keep my proportions right.

I walked home like this - sun on my face, enjoying the warmth.
I have a short version of this coat for spring/summer - I always have a selection of leather for every season.

I needed the gloves and coat done up for my morning commute.
It'll be a while before I can forego a coat entirely.

Accoutrements:
Your days are numbered, accoutrements! Soon, I won't need you!

  • Scarf - fake Louis (Lewis) Vuitton, thrifted
  • Gloves - Principles, vintage 90s, thrifted

I'll be wearing my scarves for hair/sun coverage instead of neck warmth.

The stuff:
I have to keep on wearing my heels every so often, or my feet will forget how. I'm not ready to give up on these just yet - I did a few rounds of the office, but otherwise stuck near my desk.

Gold bling:
I love that snake belt.

  • Belt - Notes du Nord, thrifted
  • Gold/eelskin bangle - Italy, fake Gucci, vintage 80s, gift from Mom and Dad
  • Gold bangle - thrifted
  • Wooden Klimt ring - consignment
  • Crystal ring - Uffizi Gallery gift shop, Florence
  • Earrings - Kenneth Cole, thrifted

  1. Very beautiful Leather Skirt Sheila, accentuates your figure.
Looks a little bit twisted in the back photo, does it twist or ride up when walking? Is it fully lined?

    1. No, it's fine when I walk. Yes, it's lined. All leather skirts are lined.

  3. A very Klassy outfit, Sheila. I love your snake belt, too.
Having escaped the cold for a week I've been a bit spoilt and having to go out in a coat again feels like a chore, we've got snow forecast for the weekend! xxx

  4. Gorgeous shoes but, yikes, looks like a 3 inch heel! You are brave but I totally get wanting to wear them, especially beauties like these. I no longer wear heels and donated all but my two favorite pairs, which turned out to both be the same brand. Taking a page from your 'closet' these two pairs are archived for posterity, to take out once in awhile and simply admire. :-)

Your outfit is highly evocative of a time period, especially the elastic in two locations on each arm. The elastic is like sleeve garters (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleeve_garter) and had me thinking of accountants from a certain era. The leather skirt is a beauty and I imagine it is soft and supple. Also appreciate your accessories, especially the gold bangle, earrings and rings.

Soon Sheila, soon it will be not only Spring (yay for the Equinox yesterday!) but the temperatures will match our conception of the season!
    Cheers, Laurie

  6. Of course you needed to wear that red leopard blouse and it couldn't get a better companion for its first outing than the wine leather skirt!
I can't wait for Spring to start in earnest - instead of the stop/start kind of Spring weather we've been treated to - and I'm definitely ready for my Spring wardrobe! xxx

  7. Funnily enough, I bought an All Saints blouse/shirt with a similar print last week!!!! Your one is lovely and stylish and I like very much how you teamed it with red and black! I'm enjoying wearing coats OTHER THAN my waterproof, long, winter raincoat- cycling means I don't really wear other coats if there is a threat of rain!
    I love Spring!!x
