Roadkill Plush, Honeycomb and Blue Cocoon

I had some physical work to do in the office today, so I planned accordingly - flats, a stretchy bottom and something warm.
I had this top in mind when I bought the skirt - I'm fond of referring to it as my Roadkill - the zigzags remind me of tire tracks.

  • Black sweater - Sonia Rykiel, consignment; last worn here (3rd outfit) on the weekend
  • Plush top - Euramerican Express, thrifted; last seen here in December 2022 on a sub-zero day
  • Skirt - GP & J Baker X H&M, consignment; purchased here for $15.00
  • Shoes - Hispanitas; last worn here in March with pleather and paisley
  • Cocoon coat (below) - Only; last seen here in November

I admit to stroking my plush sleeves as though I were having a pat with Vizzini. Very comforting and calming. I was definitely warm in it too.
I wore this new-to-me honeycomb skirt right away and, I won't keep you in suspense, I liked it.

It clung a bit to my tights, but otherwise it's a winner - very comfy and easy to wear. Thumbs up!
I'll try wearing a slip with it next time.

Wanna see the waistband?
Of course you do!

Outerwear. I'm in the blue cocoon.
Only a sleeveless coat like this can handle my massive arms.

I got a few looks on the bus.
It's a sea of athletic wear, and then there's me.

Accoutrements:
Time to get into my furry scarves and hats!

  • Hat - Marks & Spencer, consignment, Powell River
  • Fur scarf - thrifted
  • Gloves - Echo, consignment

The stuff:
I've had these shoes for ages (2016) and have worn them a bajillion times.

Silver bling:
A good amount of armour.

  • Silver cuff - thrifted, Powell River
  • Chain cuff - consignment
  • Silver chain ring - consignment
  • Anneke & Lars ring - vintage mall
  • Silver earrings - Israeli, consignment

  1. The skirt is a beauty, flattering and with a pattern that seems to offer multiple styling options. The waistband is definitely unusual!

Menswear shoes have always intrigued me. I find the style of your shoes to be classic.

    Laurie

  2. That plush top is looking very snuggly and I'm not surprised you couldn't stop stroking it! Perfect pairing with the honeycomb pencil skirt. Loving the fur scarf too! I dug out my furry stuff last weekend only for it to climb into double figures again ... xxx

  3. Fantastic new skirt, love it with the roadkill jumper, Cossack hat and furry shoes - glorious textures. You did a public service, giving your fellow bus passengers something fabulous to remember all day. xxx

  4. The shoes, accessories and skirt (though I keep wanting to lob some inches off the length!) play together in soothing harmony, and the roadkill sweater is like cymbals bringing a little zing to the ensemble. :)

I am such a big fan of the blue of your sleeveless coat, it’s a great addition to your outer wear wardrobe!
    Cheers, Laurie

  5. Love the roadkill top. Your top is very glam and doesn't look like roadkill, although you have reminded me of a Come Dine with Me (TV) episode where one of the contestants served roadkill, complete with tyre track plate decorations created using the accompanying sauce! :-D
You look extra cosy in the blue cocoon and those shoes are so cool! x
