Red Leopard Suit Rebound

After a disappointing outfit yesterday - you're so right, Ann, it just didn't feel very "Sheila" - I rebounded with a Sheila Classic.
The red leopard suit!

  • Suit - Smashed Lemon; pants last seen here for a Covid dash in November, full suit last worn here in a killer 'fit in July
  • Sweater - Dusia Knits for Gibsons, vintage 70s; last seen here (2nd outfit) in February with my Muppet skirt
  • Shoes - Marquess Swordfish, Fluevog; last worn for three days straight here in October during our trip to Seattle
  • Sleeveless coat (below) - Only, thrifted; last seen here in November

I've had this stretchy denim printed pair since the summer of 2020, bought at Dots during the early pandemic days.
I've worn it as a suit 10 times, and the pants and jacket separately a few times each.

It's old news!
But not to my coworkers or my coffee guy, who shouted when he saw me, "OH MY GOD, LOOK AT YOU."

My coworkers were also enthusiastic, but not as loud.
This old thing? Yeah, it's amazing.

I took the jacket off after climbing half a dozen flights of stairs - I walked both ways AND did the stairs.
Go, me! My physical energy is back.

We've been lucky with the weather - it's still quite mild out.
A bit rainy, a bit cold, a bit gloomy. It's better than snow!

I'm looking at some quality vacation time, starting in a few days.
I've been expending a lot of social energy these days - it's worth it, but phew, it is exhausting.

Accoutrements:
I'm smitten with that scarf.

  • Beret - Parkhurst, consignment
  • Scarf - Uniqlo X Marimekko, consignment
  • Gloves - Parkhurst

The stuff:
"Your shoes are amazing!" said a man to me in the elevator.

Armour bling:
Colleague Kristina's young daughter was wide-eyed at my outfit and all this sparkle.

  • Belt - gift from Ruth
  • Enameled cuff - thrifted
  • Heart bracelet - Juicy Couture, consignment
  • Brooch - Eaton's, c. 1998
  • Silver earrings - Israeli, consignment
  • Silver/onyx ring - Tocara, vintage fair
  • Silver/onyx ring - consignment
  • Silver chain ring - Mexican, consignment

Yesterday's "bad" outfit? Totally forgotten!

  1. Woohoo, this IS a Sheila outfit and, now that it’s out in the open and been said by others, far superior to yesterday’s! All the accessories rock and I especially like the enameled cuff with the red flower stars. This combo always looks fabulous as a suit.

Woohoo (a second time) for the full return of your energy, the upcoming holiday weekend, vacation and anything else you want to toss in to the “Woohoo.” :)

    Cheers, Laurie

  2. Isn't it wonderful to wear favorite pieces and feel like you are fully yourself? So glad to see you in this again!

Plus, I have recently noticed a serious lack of red in my wardrobe--how did that happen? So I am on the hunt myself now for some good red pieces. The best I could do yesterday was to throw on a pair of black jeans that I had embroidered with a red rose at the ankle.

I was traveling the past few weeks and missed keeping up with your posts, which I have been trying to catch up on this morning. So sorry that you and L had covid, and so glad that you are getting better!

    With warm wishes,
    Linda B

  3. Now that's more like it! A true Sheila classic indeed!
I'm not surprised you've worn it 10 times already, not even counting the times you wore the pieces separately. No wonder the coffee guy and your colleagues were so complimentary either.
Loving the Uniqlo X Marimekko, and yes, those shoes really are amazing! xxx P.S. My vacation time starts in a couple of days too. Yay!

  4. So glad your energy is returning Sheila. And I hope you realize the positive impact you have on the world; Kristina’s daughter now knows what fearless, fun fashion looks like and will be a different person for the experience. With love and gratitude xx
