Golden, Plaid and Leopard

I played with this skirt over the weekend. What goes with this? What do I wear it with?
It won't come as a shock that this golden blouse was one of the first things I grabbed. It matches one of the stripes in the plaid.

  • Blouse - Lady Manhattan, vintage 80s, consignment; last worn here in January, layered under a dress
  • Skirt - Liz Claiborne, thrifted; purchased here for $16.50
  • Shoes - Banana Republic, consignment; last seen here in March with red and velvet
  • Eclipse Coat (below) - Welsh, vintage, consignment; last worn here a couple of weeks ago

I'm not feeling the blouse, though - the cut isn't floating my boat, although I like the colour.
But it goes well enough with the skirt.

I enjoyed wearing the skirt - but do I love it?
I'll try styling it with something else before I make any decisions.

There's no doubt about this coat.
LOVE!

I see you, Monday.
You just behave yourself.

Accoutrements:
Snuggly warm scarf, freezing gloves.

  • Fur scarf - Danier, thrifted
  • Velour gloves - Principles, thrifted

The stuff:
I love leopard print mixed with plaid. Comfy shoes!

Mixed bling:
I started with my Grandma's gold ball necklace - the grey beads led me to mix in the Brutalist "grey" pewter bracelet (it has small balls of gold on it).

  • Necklace - Anne Klein, vintage 80s, Grandma J's
  • Shiny discs bracelet - J. Crew, consignment
  • Brutalist bracelet - Robert Larin, vintage 70s, vintage mall, gift from L
  • Earrings - thrifted, Seattle
  • Brass ring - vintage mall
  • Steel ring - POLY, thrifted
  • Brooch - vintage 60s, Mom's

Mom's metal flower brooch was on my coat.

  1. Very beautiful Skirt Sheila, fits nice and snug on you and looks like a high enough back slit for ease of walking. I also love long pencil skirts.

  2. The skirt looks warm and, as noted in the previous comment, the slit looks like it accommodates walking. The blouse…hmm, I’m not a fan. My eye wants to see maybe a short cropped chunky sweater or a close fitting non-bulky belted V-neck sweater. No idea which - if either - would play well with the skirt.

Great coat - pattern, colors and length - and it provides a nice backdrop for the brooch to shine.
    Happy Tuesday!
    Cheers, Laurie

  3. Evening, She! I'm not a fan of pencil skirts but that Welsh Wool coat and your funky leopard loafers stop you straying into Miss Marple territory. xxx

  4. I'm totally getting why you're not feeling the blouse and are on the fence about the skirt. Why they are both beautiful in their own right, I don't think the outfit is very Sheila!
Loving the leopard and bling though, particularly the bracelets! xxx
