This is the best pic of the outfit because half of the jacket is tucked behind me. By the time I realized my proportions were off, it was too late to change.
- Leather jacket - Danier Leather, vintage 80s, first worn here in December 2022 for brunch with my nieces
- Blouse - CABI, thrifted; last worn here in February with shades of orange and purple
- Skirt - All Saints, gift from Dominique; last worn here in February 2022 with PANK and denim
- Boots - Groovy Husymans, Fluevog; last seen here in February with stripes and a Gram-made sweater
- Cape (below) - Arola, vintage 60s, thrifted; last worn here in February
That's okay - I still like the bright yellow with the outfit, and it's always a delight to wear this pouf-tastic skirt.
The skirt is a thin cotton and is highly voluminous, with pieces tacked up here and there.
I have a sentimental attachment to it because a favourite coworker gave it to me, but I'm not sure if I'm still feeling it.

Love these booties.

Off to plan a better outfit for tomorrow!
Love it better without the blazer indeed. But it's a very cheerful colour! Beautiful Cape too.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nancy!
DeleteThat pop of yellow is wonderfully spring-like, I can forgive the shape because the colour is so Spring-like and zingy - and you can see from your back view what a fabulous quality piece it is!
ReplyDeleteThe malachite bangle, earrings and rings look like they should be in my collection! xxx
Yes, it just doesn't belong with this skirt. No doubts at all about the quality!
DeleteHa! Well, you have been very inspiring, Vix! I've been watching for good quality Mexican silver over the past year.
Pretty colors, proportions be damned!
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks, Ally!
DeleteHmm, makes me think a shirt/blouse in the color of the jacket would work nicely. Is the jacket too bulky to be belted? And could the skirt be altered by you to adjust the parts that are shorter in the front?
ReplyDeleteI’m a fan of the skirt, for what it’s worth. It looks interesting and can be paired with a multitude of colors on top. Good luck with tomorrow’s outfit, which is actually today given when I’m commenting!
Cheers,
Laurie
I do have a couple of sweaters in this colour that would have worked better, Laurie. Oh yes, the jacket's far too bulky for belting! I am not going to alter an All Saints skirt - that's how it is, and how it shall remain (at least, with me). Thank you - I do like the skirt, but I also have MANY other black/white/cream skirts that do the job better.
DeleteAh, understood, certain pieces - designers - remain as is. Once altered they lose what made them special,
DeleteIt's a special piece and it should stay that way!
DeleteAlthough I am hearing you on the proportions, the dash of daffodil yellow is pure delight!
ReplyDeleteThe pouffy skirt is gorgeous, as is that cape. So envious of your fabulous collection of capes. I never seem to find anything like that. xxx
It annoys me when I miss the proportions, Ann! But thank you and YES, I love the yellow - so sunny and happy.
DeleteI do like the skirt, but I think it's time to move it along. Never the cape, though!
I do like the bright yellow with the neutrals even if the proportions are off it's still an outfit that made me smile! So I think it was a successful outfit! :)
