Those 90s Colours

Today's outfit features some very retro colours. Can we consider the 90s/early 00s retro now?
This mossy green (celadon, we called it), burnt orange and light teal combo is peak 90s, very much from 1998-2000.

  • Jacket - Anthracite, consignment; purchased here for $27.50
  • Top - Tatum & Olivia, consignment; last worn here in September with leopard culottes
  • Skirt - Suvremena Zena, thrifted; purchased here for $22.99
  • Shoes - Wonders Ayers, Fluevog; last seen here in November 2021 in a Velvet Rage outfit
  • Coat (below) - Mallia, consignment; last worn here in February

My Stair Picture view this morning.
We woke up to thick fog - it burned off during the day and it was sunny and cold.

I'd planned on wearing my Bark Skirt (this one) with this jacket, but it did not work.
The boxy shape of the jacket (plus it's a couple of sizes big on me) meant that with a full skirt my waist was completely lost, even with the belt.

A quick swap over to this new-to-me corduroy pencil skirt and I was good.
I didn't change any of the accessories either! It all worked, thank goodness.

The skirt was lovely to wear - no Velvet/Corduroy rage.
You can see a peek of my full vintage slip at the slit - I had it on for the other skirt and was too cold to remove it.

Masked up.
I deployed the giant skirt pockets frequently.

Outerwear - should have worn a hat. Brrr!
But the rest of me was snuggly warm in my baby alpaca/wool jacket - it's 70% alpaca, so really toasty.

Back view - a nice big walking slit.
The coat is a herringbone pattern of brown on black (proof here).

Accoutrements:
Oh, those 90s colours! More of the light teal in the iridescent ruffled trim of the scarf.

  • Scarf - thrifted; purchased here for $3.95
  • Gloves - thrifted
  • Mask - by Mom

The stuff:
The shoes have been in my closet forever - this is the 29th wearing of them since 2011 (Flashback here, I've worn them 4 times since then).

Bronzy bling:
I had to wear the snake belt, even though I have a more matchy bronze belt.

  • Belt - Notes Du Nord, consignment; purchased here for $12.50
  • Brass cuff - Midzo, vintage expo
  • Cuff with turquoise/pearls - Myka, consignment
  • Earrings - consignment, Powell River
  • Brutalist ring - vintage mall
  • Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes

  1. That skirt and jacket are perfect together, I love those spicy, Autumnal hues and I'm still wild about that belt. WE've had a few of those foggy starts, they look extra spooky with your castle! xxx

  2. Lovely outfit! The colours are simply gorgeous together, be they retro or modern! Plus, the shapes are so enhancive of each other- and very complementary to your shape as well. Last but not least, I love how the coil of the snake on the belt buckle harkens to the circles in the jacket and jewelry. As always, your attention to these details is utterly delightful. ~Cheers, ReaderRita

  8. Oh!!! It worked here! (Kezzie). I very much like this 90's-coloured jacket- how pretty. It's superb with the orange skirt! The Fluevogs are lovely too and I'm enjoying the bronzes. Brrr, I hear ya on the hat!!!

  9. I really like the green and orange together, it's a combination I don't wear nearly enough and I like these muted shades of it together, the jacket and skirt are the perfect combination! Such a nice outfit.
