Today's Fancy Friday features this new-to-me leopard top. Going forward, it will be more of a layering piece, but for this outfit, it's the star!
I was happy to get another wearing in of my "bark" skirt. This is its 17th outfit! - Leather jacket (sans lining) - Boss by Hugo Boss, consignment; last worn here in September 2021 on a Mom-Day Adventure
- Top - Gilmour, consignment; purchased here (new with tags!) for $12.00
- Skirt - Gunex, thrifted; last worn and Flashbacked here (3rd outfit) in November 2020 with pink angora
- Shoes - Banana Republic, consignment; last seen here in October 2021 with gold pleats
- Coat (below) - Hilary Radley, thrifted; last worn here in December 2021
Aside from the pattern, the top is a basic thin long-sleeved turtleneck. I liked the feel of the fabric, very soft.
I know, I noted that my brown velvet blazer the other day was my Best Brown Blazer...and yet, here I am with another brown blazer. Tsk.
We could say it's the Best Brown Leather Blazer...And this is how you end up with a massive wardrobe! A bit of my full coral vintage slip is showing there.

Masked up:
I have three different leopard masks - this one is lighter tones. I have a mid-brown one, and a darker brown as well. There are different leopards!
Outerwear:
I may not have a winter leopard coat (I have a spring/fall one!) but I do have the Unsafe Ocelot! It's so cozy and warm.
Accoutrements:
Just the unusual suspects.
- Scarf - Pierre Cardin, vintage 70s, thrifted
- Leather gloves - thrifted
- Mask - by Mom
The stuff:
I'm still on the lookout for the Best Leopard Shoes - I don't like this loafer front on me, but I do love the block heel. If these had a scoop vamp, I'd be thrilled. As it is, I am merely content.
Brown and gold bling:
So many classy names: Fendi, Givenchy...and fake Gucci.
- Belt - Fendi, thrifted; last worn here in December 2021
- Necklace - Givenchy, vintage 80s, vintage fair
- Earrings - 5th anniversary gift from L
- Gold chain - vintage 80s, Grandma J's
- Bracelet - fake Gucci, gift from Mom and Dad, early 90s, Italy
- Amber ring - c. 1996
- Brass brutalist ring - vintage 70s, antique mall
Have a good weekend, my friends. I'll be back on Sunday with tales of adventure!
The unsafe ocelot coat is gorgeous! I love how you are constantly combining different elements to create such fabulous outfits. That belt really makes a statement, too!

Thanks, Marsha! yup, I love mixing things up and creating outfits - I've been shopping my closet a lot more the last 2 years.
DeleteI love all the leopard elements in this look. The top, the shoes, the mask and the coat. Leopard is such a gorgeous blazer. I also love your brown leather blazer. Very pretty styling altogether. I don't have a leather blazer, maybe I should look for one- I'd be happy to find it in any colour. Brown is a good choice with leopard.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Love the slip!
Thank you, Ivana! I adore leather anything - this blazer is great quality too. Thanks!
DeleteI'm always happy to see the Unsafe Ocelot! Have a fabulous weekend, my friend! xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks, Vix!
DeleteI mentioned today on Instagram that I don't have any leopard print shoes! How is that possible Sheila?? Lol. Love that coat, its magnificent! Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat? How is that possible, Nancy!? Get on that! ;-P
DeleteLovely! Love all the animal prints including the unsafe Ocelot!

Thank you, Vronni!
DeleteLove all of it.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Goody!
DeleteFantastic outfit, Sheila. The bark skirt, best brown leather jacket and new-to-you leather top are a match made in heaven, and I always love seeing that amazing belt. Most of all, I love the mix of animal print, which really makes my heart sing! Have a fab weekend Sheila! xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Ann. I enjoyed piling on the leopard (and ocelot).
DeleteYou Rock Leopard (and Ocelot!). Those mixed textures and shades of brown are so fab!, and the massive belt and cool scarf too!, so elegant!
ReplyDeletebesos
Thanks so much!
DeleteAre you saying you'd rather spend time with your hubby and cat instead of us?! *pout*
ReplyDeleteYes. :-D
DeleteI found a really nice leopard print faux fur coat at a thrift store yesterday. It's a trapeze shape and shorter than your unsafe Ocelot. I've always wanted one and as we have been having an extreme cold spell it will definitely get worn soon.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds AMAZING!
DeleteI like the brown and leopard together and I completely see the need for two awesome brown blazers in your wardrobe - as you pointed out they are very different fabrics and you are not someone who keeps around a lot of pieces if they don't work for you - I try to remember your eagerness to let things go when they aren't working if I'm debating a piece staying in my wardrobe. Definitely a work in progress for me though, haha!
ReplyDeleteIt's a stretch, but I do love the velvet one AND the leather one, Mica! if I have to really think about it, it usually means "let it go."
DeleteWOW stunning
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteThere are belts and then there are head-turningly fabulous statement belts. This rich caramelly-cognac hued beauty falls squarely into the latter camp and adds such a great hit of pizzazz to an already marvelous ensemble, my dear friend.

Yes, this is one of my treasured belts - Fendi, so classy! Thank you!
