Fancy Friday: All the Bright Citrus

Happy Friday, my friends! If you've been reading my blog for a while - THANK YOU - then you're well aware of my love to all things citrus. Acid yellow, neon pink (PANK), dayglo orange.

I say, "Wear them all!" After all, it's Fancy Friday.

  • Top - AWear, vintage 90s, thrifted; purchased here for $14.95
  • Skirt - J. Crew, thrifted; last worn here in July 2021 with red and white
  • Shoes - Big Presence Earhart, Fluevog; last seen here in October 2021 with springy brights
  • Leather jacket (below) - Danier Leather; last worn here in May

This whole outfit was even more vivid in person.
I had anticipated finally meeting our new HR person and giving her an office tour today, but she wasn't feeling well. Bummer, she missed a good outfit!

I'll be seeing her on Monday...must wear something special.
I loved wearing this new-to-me top - it is a nice thick mesh and I really appreciated that the front was lined.

I also wore a cami under it, as I didn't really feel like showing my entire back.
Oh, my! I've been doing bridges in addition to my dead bugs (for anyone interested, just search on YouTube) to tighten up my booty...and it's working!

Everyone I saw today commented on my bright colours.
I also wore these new-to-me lace coral tights for the first time (purchased here yesterday for $1.95). I love this colour!

More colour in my outerwear.
The skirt is a woven tweed (with neon yellow lining) that has red, pink and burgundy in addition to the yellow.

I wasn't able to wear my coat open.
Only at the end of the day, while I walked uphill home and was sweaty. Sigh.

Accoutrements:
This scarf had all the colours!

  • Silk scarf - Marc Rozier, vintage 80s, consignment
  • Mask - Lazy Susan's

The stuff:
I have had these shoes going on 5 years - this is their 17th wearing.

Bright bling:
Two sets worn together: my orange vintage Italian set, and the Venetian glass necklace and earrings.

  • Silicon bangle - Materia Design, thrifted
  • Bracelet/ring - Italian, vintage 60s, vintage mall
  • Necklace/earrings - Venice, gift from L
  • Gold/amethyst ring - Frances Jewelers, c. 1965, Dad's

"What is that?" one of the elevator techs asked me.
"It's squishy silicon," I said, and did this to my yellow bracelet.

Wishing you all a joy-filled weekend! I'll be back on Sunday with tales of adventure!

  2. Love LOVE love the bright colors and patterns of your outfit, including all the accoutrements! We have a lovely sunny rather breezy Saturday morning in Mamaroneck but I needed some cheering up (Fred broke his left collarbone last week and I have a niggly right wrist) so seeing all your color and "hearing" your voice was just the perfect pick-me-up! Here's to a glorious weekend filled with fun, adventure and whatever suits your mood!

  4. I just love your shoe collection, I think I would die a happy woman if I had it, not that I could wear any of them for any length of time, but just to say it was mine.
