It's a Wrap

These short weeks always feel long, and I'm glad to see the end of this one. Cut! It's a wrap!
I do love my puns, and yes, I'm wearing two faux wrap pieces today, revisiting two new-ish items in my closet.

  • Blouse - Sisstrevolution, Vancouver; first worn here in April with boss pink pants
  • Skirt - Andrea Jovine, thrifted; first worn here in June with leafy greens
  • Shoes - Effortless Bebe, Fluevog; last seen here in June with lace and florals

I'd planned to wear my new-to-me parrot pin with this top and skirt, but by the time I discovered the pin stuck on the back of the shirt - to remind myself, which worked so well, ha ha - it was too late, my accessorizing was done. I just rolled with it. Next time, parrots.
I didn't actually clue in how well these two pieces "wrapped" together until I saw the pictures. I totally did not plan that - I paired the top with the high-waisted skirt because it's a crop (vs. long/tucked in).

I'm not keeping the top. I don't love it. It's not me.
The skirt, however, is going nowhere. Perfect length - this is going to look good with boots in the fall.

It doesn't gape open, even when I'm striding about or sitting at my desk.
And that lovely curved shape at the front just makes me happy.

The stuff:
The top is pale pink and I wore a dusty rose cami under it, so heck, why not hot pink metallic shoes? Comfy and snazzy as heck!

Brown bling:
I wore this choker with this top last time too.

  • Choker - vintage 70s, Mom's
  • Bracelet - J. Crew, thrifted
  • Earrings - Hamilton

My earrings were very popular today, and not just with my coworkers.
"You're no fun at all, Woman."

There will no chewing of my earrings!

Wishing you all a very happy weekend. I will be back on Sunday with tales of adventure and pictures of cat. Thank you so much for stopping by - I appreciate every one of you!

  1. It's a shame you're not keeping the top, I think it looks lovely! It does wrap so perfectly with the skirt, I love how they align!

    1. I didn't like how it fit - it kept creeping up under my boobs. I also like how they align, but I prefer a tucked-in top with the high waist. Ah well. Thanks, Mica!

  2. It's a double wrap, and I totally love it. That is one fab outfit in my book! Your bling, especially those lovely earrings and bracelets, are pretty fabulous too. Oh, and look at Vizzini. He doesn't look too pleased to be picked up, just like Phoebe. Had to laugh at your comment, as she is indeed a huge fluffball, and the photo makes her look even bigger! Have a fabulous weekend, Sheila, we have made it ;-) xxx

    1. Aw, thank you, Ann! I wish I'd remembered the parrot pin, but it'll be on another outfit.

Hee, Vizzini was actually pretty chill - he doesn't mind being picked up, unlike your Phoebe!

Woo hoo! Yes, indeed, we made it! Thank you, my dear!

  3. Shiela, I always admire how you’re able to examine what pieces work for you and get rid of things that aren’t making you feel fab. That’s a great way to be. X

    1. Thanks, Jess! Part of my collecting is that I have to actually let go of pieces all the time, even things that I once loved. I know when it's time to let a piece go, and I rarely regret any of my decisions.

  4. Hello sweetie, long time, no visit. How clever of you to match these pieces without trying. The skirt is so worth keeping - the shape is uber flattering and it's a winner if it doesn't flap open, hurrah!
Am off to do a catch up. Not sure how far back I can go xxx

  5. I agree that top is not Sheila and I think that's a dashing skirt, I have never been able to find a wrap skirt that looks this good.

    1. Thank you! I knew you would get it.

The wrap part that goes underneath is stitched down at the upper thigh instead of the waist, which makes it stay shut - and it's SUCH a great cut. I love this skirt.

  6. The skirt is very flattering with a bit of VA-VA-VOOM. The top doesn't strike me as "you" either, but someone else will enjoy it.
