Lace, Floral and Pearls

Ah, Monday back to work - everything went smoothly and I spent most of the day getting through my 84 emails.
Since I had to focus on getting caught up, I wore some of "these old things" plus two new-to-me items. I'll save the really fun stuff for another day when I can chat about it with my colleagues.

  • Lace jacket - fake Gucci (Gookey!), thrifted; last worn here (5th outfit) in April with lemon leather
  • Skirt - Talbots, thrifted new with tags; purchased here for $22.95
  • Shoes - Effortless Bebe, Fluevog; last worn here (3rd outfit) in May with an awesome vintage dress

I do make an effort to wear new things right away - no sense in them languishing in my closet. I could have gone with the 'expected' matches with this skirt (yellow, pink, red, black, white), but instead, I did a print mix with the bold stripes on the cuffs and hem of this lace bomber.
The skirt has some dark green in it, and I really liked how that stripe popped against the floral of the skirt.

I hear that lace is trendy for fall. Yay!
This skirt was a delight to wear - very swooshy. I wish it had pockets, though!

No outerwear, just this.
Looking sassy - I am a rather sassy person in real life.

The stuff:
I adore these shoes - I am stalking another pair with this heel on Fluevog's website.

Pearly bling:
I love an outfit with gobs of pearls. This is the first wearing of my $9.00 pearl bracelet.

  • Necklace - Aldo Accessories
  • Bracelet - vintage fair; purchased here for $9.00 - first wearing
  • Earrings - thrifted
  • Amber ring - c. 1996
  • Pearl ring - Erth, consignment

With all my pearls, I rattled a lot - you could hear me coming!

  1. Glad your return to work went well! I like the bright colours of the bomber and skirt together, it's such a pretty skirt even if it doesn't have pockets!

  2. Fabulous pairing of the new floral skirt with the old lacy bomber jacket! I always love seeing these shoes, such a gorgeous colour, and those heels! The "gobs of pearl" complete your outfit perfectly. And yes, you do look sassy, Sheila! I'm always glad to have the first day back at work over with, don't you? We had a long weekend, with Monday off, so today was my Monday! xxx

  3. I love the unexpected match, much more fun than the expected mitchy-matchy option.
Those are the kind of heels I like, chunky but funky! xxx

    1. Same, Vix! Matchy-matchy is sometimes too much. I love chunky heels.

  4. I'm the opposite, I never wear new things straight away. Don't know why, it's stupid!

    1. Figure it out, Nancy! I like to find out if I really like an item when I buy it, or if it was an impulse. If I don't like it, it's gone.

  6. Beautiful bright outfit. That Gooky lace jacket has proven to be a good purchase.

  7. All full skirts should have pockets! Who do we write to about this? The pattern and luxe fabric ALMOST make up for the lack of pockets.
