I was very pleased with today's outfit, especially because I had a new colour to wear with this awesome skirt - Turquoise! Everything goes with turquoise!
The skirt is the star (or schtar, if you will). I adore this skirt.- Sweater - Kasper, print by Pina, thrifted; purchased here for $16.95
- Skirt - Maeve, thrifted; last seen here in July 2016 with a plain white shirt
- Shoes - Prepare Guide, Fluevog; last worn here in September 2016 with lace, jungle and dots
- Coat (below) - Danier Leather, consignment
I enjoyed telling everyone at work that the thing on the sweater was a jelly-deer. It's not a jelly-FISH, it's a jelly-DEER. This totally makes sense to me.
I liked how the navy (tulle on the skirt, glitter-enhanced on the thin sweater) tied everything together. A few people at work (all men) thought this was a dress.
Not a dress.
Outerwear. Rainy today. Had to carry my brolly.
I remembered my gloves, though - today, it's the red Parkhurst ones. I'm also wearing a scarf/capelet by Floating Gold Iceberg that I thrifted here in August 2016 for $7.50.
The stuff:
Yay! My elf shoes are back! Or as L says it, "Oh yay. Your elf shoes are back."
Matchy bling:
Orange wooden earrings, and turquoise rings. That'll do.
- Earrings - Vintage Expo
- Turquoise ring - local
- Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes
Ooooo, are you doing an orange theme this week? Did I guess first? Yay, me! Also, this whole look is awesome and super flattering. Those shoes are epic - whether L agrees or not!
ReplyDeleteNope, no theme this week. :) Thank you so much! L wants to do another round of "Shoes My Husband Hates."
DeleteI have a turquoise bag and I agree everything goes with turquoise! I really like it here with the orange. I am now inspired to try one of my graphic tees with my printed skirt, I usually wear them with denim but it would be good to change it up a bit! :) I have a tee in mind, I'm just hoping I can fit back into it haha.
ReplyDeleteGo for it! I love graphic tees with prints. You can do it!
DeleteI love your colour combination here! The orange and turquoise work perfectly together- and that skirt is so pretty too.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Nicole.
DeleteWonderful skirt. It could star in a Broadway musical. :-)
ReplyDeleteA musical about...skirts! These things just write themselves!
DeleteI beg to differ. I say the jellydeer is the schtar. That is all.
ReplyDeleteHee, well, it is pretty darned cool. I have to agree, but quietly, so the skirt doesn't get jealous.
DeleteLOVE this outfit today! Those colors all work together perfectly.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Charlotte! I was really happy with it.
DeleteDo you think the Jelly-Deer is actually Harry & James' Patronus from Harry Potter. When I first saw the image that's immediately where my mind went. It's fabulous!
ReplyDeleteNope, it's totally not - this artist (Pina) is local and always works a sea theme into the designs. It's definitely a deer with jellyfish legs.
DeleteI'll join the chorus--this ensemble sings! The elements are in perfect harmony.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Linda! It's definitely one of my favourite outfits.
Deleteoh so so fun, you are a delight!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteBloody fantastic!!! This is the perfect proportion, length and style of outfit for your body shape Sheila. See how this is almost the same outline as yesterday, but the skirt length is just a fraction longer and therefore more flattering?
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, turquoise and orange are a match made in heaven. You look, adorable - good enough to eat!
Anna x
Wooo, thank you, Anna! I know, it's the skirt length that is throwing me off on the orange dress. It's too short for that pouf, combined with the full-coverage top of the dress.
DeleteThis outfit is utterly ADORABLE! Both the top and skirt are something I would wear, but I don't think I would be able to do them justice. The "Jelly-deer" is brilliant.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Shelley! I am rather fond of my jelly-deer.
DeleteWell I'd be happy too!!! No question this is an outfit I would be thrilled about, the orange with the turquoise as accents are totally genius.
ReplyDeleteIt made me happy - easily one of my favourite outfits of the last couple of months.
