I really did not want to go to work today! The streets were deserted this morning - I walked through intersections with impunity. Works itself was just a skeleton crew. Oh well, I got a lot done while it was quiet.
And despite a "case of the Mondays", I still managed to look half-decent.- Jacket - no label, thrifted; purchased here for $12.95
- Blouse - Violet & Claire, thrifted; last seen here in March with Etro and marigold
- Skirt - Danier Leather, thrifted; last worn here (2nd outfit) for a shop with Yvonne in March
- Booties - Feud; last seen here in October 2016 with so much lavender
- Coat (below) - BCBG Max Azria, thrifted
I must say, I adored this crazy pagoda jacket all day.
Feelin' large and in charge, baby!
It's my Wonder Woman pose |
I am done with these booties. The insides are not leather, and they're peeling off, and frankly, it's gross. They're also not very comfortable, and they are a huge pain to put on and take off.
Outerwear. Grey and gloomy while walking to and from work; sunny during work hours. Of course.
I just let my sleeves hang out. Whatevs.
The stuff:
Goodbye, lavender booties. Let's go for a little walk down Memory Lane and see how they fared.
In addition to today's outfit, I wore them...
- In October 2016, here, where I noted that they stumpified my legs;
- In November 2015, here, worn for a few hours only before I switched to my runners;
- In March 2015, here, in probably the best outfit with them. I noted then that they were still keepers.
- In November 2013, here, with red leather and dark florals, and "a bit sore" feet;
- In April 2013, here, with a lot of blah greys; and
- Three times in January 2013: here, here and here. I was doing a wardrobe capsule challenge; hence, the repeated wearings.
They were purchased here in December 2012 for $60.00, so I wore them nine times. That works out to $6.67 per wear. I am okay with that.
Pearl bling:
And I've decided that I don't like this necklace anymore, and the earrings were a bit too heavy on my ears and are missing a wee stone, so they are gone too. Gone! I won't miss 'em!
- Necklace - Joe Fresh, thrifted
- Earrings - vintage fair
This week's nail polish is..."Blue Bird" by Rimmel's 60 Seconds Vinyl Mirror.
I love the bright blue and the pearly shine of them. For some reason, pearl nail polishes seem to last better/longer on me without chipping.
That's a lovely nail polish! :) I really like the statement jacket, I think it's perfect with the rest of your outfit, even if you were not overly impressed with the other pieces. When I'm just not feeling it I'm often harsher with myself and my outfit choices, and maybe that's what happened here as you let so many things go after wearing them? Or maybe just coincidence and their time really was up! :)
ReplyDeleteTHanks so much for your sweet comment on my blog too Sheila. It's funny because everything you said was bad - the no-nonsense pics, the details shot and poses that show off what you're wearing, are some of the reasons why I love your blog. It's not about self promotion, it's about having fun with your wardrobe and sharing that with like-minded people and your fashion style, knowledge and blogging style is something I look up to and admire.
I hope your Monday improved! :)
Mica, thank you for this long and heartfelt comment - I really appreciate it.
DeleteWhen I'm not feeling it, I look at all the pieces to help me figure out why. I've been eyeing these booties for a while, and the pearls, well, this was their last chance. When I'm on the fence with something, my inclination is to get rid of it - it's not like I have any shortage of items!
Aw, that really means a lot to me, hon. Thank you for "getting me" and what I'm doing. You're awesome. Hugs!
Virtual hugs back to you! :) Thank you for continuing to blog - it really is inspiring and it's much appreciated by myself and your other readers :)
DeleteI'd suggest black leggings/tights for this outfit. I love your beautiful pale legs and they look fabulous in the previous post with the grey dress and also with the black floating skirt. This straight skirt just cries out for black legs, IM(very humble)O.
ReplyDeleteFair enough! I can see that - I usually do wear darker hosiery with short skirts. Thanks, Kate!
DeleteI love those same things about your blog, Sheila! Keep it up. Honestly, I come here for YOU (personality, cat, adventures) more than your clothes. :)
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you, Christie! I'll just keep on doing what I'm doing. :)
DeleteI really like the jacket Sheila.
ReplyDeleteAnd I know what you mean about shoes that peel in the inside. I've gotten rid of at least a dozen shoes because of that reason. I have to say that sometimes when I do my CPW I feel like I've worn the item soooo little than I had originally expected to.
Thanks, Lorena! Ugh, I was so disappointed that the insides were peeling away! Such lovely booties, and then to cheap out on the lining. The CPW on these are lower $ thank I expected them to be, actually. I don't feel too bad.
DeleteThis is the jacket from the last post! Looking amazing over that mini skirt! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Elizabeth!
DeleteWhat an a amazing jacket!
ReplyDeleteIt's a pretty crazy piece! I enjoyed it, for sure.
DeleteHurrah for your new black and gold jacket, and yes the styling is fine and another yes about losing those boots - they didn't really do your outfit justice so derserve to be dumped. Goodness knows what I would've chosen instead, but these don't strike me as the best in colour or style. I'll be interested to see what you wear with this jacket next time.
ReplyDeleteAnna x
I think I'll probably wear the jacket with something shiny, like my copper shoes. I don't know how long I'll keep the jacket, but I do enjoy a novelty piece like this. Thanks, Anna!
