Sparkly Red and Bark

Sparkle on, my friends!
I've decided to pull all my really shiny and festive clothes out and build seasonal outfits for my last days of work in the old year. Of course, I have parties and Christmas itself to dress for, but I enjoy planning my work outfits. I love pushing the envelope at work.

  • Sweater - Le Chateau, thrifted; thrifted here last weekend for $5.50
  • Skirt - Gunex, thrifted; last seen here in July with watercolours
  • Shoes - Nine West, thrifted; last worn here in November 2013 with Kim Cattrall's suit

Sparkly red! It's the perfect seasonal sweater. I don't know that I'll wear it that much out of season, but I do wear sequins in summer, so why not?
I actually said, "Seriously?" out loud when I saw that I haven't worn this skirt since July! I feel like I lost 3 weeks' worth of outfit when I took the time off work in October - I'm sure I would have worn it then.

The stuff:
I'm considering these shoes, however. Brown, yes. Classic shape, yes. Comfy, yes. Sweet shape, yes. Love to death, no.

Speaking-of-love-to-death bling:
I can't pick Vizzini up when I wear this mink rose brooch. He wants to make sweet, sweet love to it!

  • Pin, thrifted
  • Earrings, local

Tonight is a rare night where L and I are both home sort of early and have no plans. I think I might just have to crack open a bottle of wine - on a "school night"!

  1. Love the sparkles! Are you wearing a red slip under the skirt or is it lined in red? Very pretty effect either way with the red sweater :)

  2. I have that same brooch in a champagne mink shade!
They sell them at the Pharmasave in Oak Bay...great that you found one in a thrift shop.
I like your red and black outfit, very festive.

  6. This is such a wonderful festive sweater :)
I had a similar cashmere sweater in my hands a few weeks back at a market but, after inspecting it carefully I saw a few holes. Cashmere pieces in good shape are hard top find.
