Whoa! Miss me? It's been a hectic week, leading into a hectic month. My blog posting may slow down somewhat, but never fear! I'm not going anywhere.
Linking up to "Visible Monday" over at Patti's Not Dead Yet Style. Get your butts over there!
The dress is a little too lightweight for this ensemble, but eh, whatever, we're still having lovely warm summer weather. I last wore it here in June (I prefer that outfit) with cowboy boots.
here in August when I was plowed into by a cyclist.
here in July with cherry and polka dots.
Dress (Orgami Dress, Bodybag by Jude), shirt (Banana Republic, consignment), shoes (Garden of Enjoyment Rita, Fluevog), obi (Smoking Lily, consignment), necklace (the Bay), earrings (local), lapis lazuli ring/Fulvia Ring (Wendy Brandes).
After work on Thursday, we had a "Women of" dinner for women in my company. I work in IT, and most of the 200+ people in my office are men. It's nice to get away from all the testosterone once in a while.
Before we met up, I popped into the WIN store downtown and found a couple of cool things.
I'm a complete sucker for velvets and other rich textures. This is a gorgeous soft purple cotton velvet, lined with coloured satin (vines and flowers).
Real mother-of-pearl buttons:
Added to my collection of obis with a nice dark green one for $3.00.
I love the golden yellow, medium grey and black strip of this scarf. It has a chevron texture in the weave.
Friday felt like not-a-dress day - time for pants!
The blouse is semi-sheer (I have a black camisole on under it), and was last seen here in March layered under a dress.
here in June with my sweet vintage leather and crochet top.
It threatened to rain on Friday, so I broke out my bowler for the season.
here in August with my barnyard skirt.
Blouse (Lida Baday, consignment), pants (Tara Jarmon, consignment), shoes (Half Truth Tanya, Fluevog), earrings (local).
Officer Vizzini is usually on the prowl in the mornings, watching for falling acorns and supervising the squirrels, but I caught him in an odd nap spot on Friday morning.
|"You're wearing that?"|
Ulty was a hard game - I had a couple of collisions, including a foot-stomp from a 200-lb man in cleats. Yow! My ankle was pretty sore all evening.
here (2nd outfit, for Ulty again) a whole week ago.
Dress (Nine West, consignment), shoes (Born, consignment), necklace (thrifted), earrings (both local).
My ankle felt a lot better today, so I risked walking to town to get groceries.

When I look at this jacket I think, "Meh", but when I wear it, I love it. The colour is just spectacular, isn't it? And there I am in velvet again. I last wore this jacket here (2nd outfit) in April with a light tropical skirt.
I'm just wearing a black camisole (with sequins at the top) underneath. Nothing to see here - I never took the jacket off.
here in April - also not worn that often this season, but still a keeper.
here a couple of weeks ago with ruffly leopard.
We've got a man down!
Jacket (Alison Wonderland, consignment), skirt (Bedo, thrifted), shoes (Town Shoes, thrifted), earrings (local).
After getting groceries, I meandered down to Hemp & Co. to spend a $25.00 gift card. I'm not really into knits too much but I liked the neckline and the colour of this dress.
They're moving locations, so they were having a big sale. The dress was regular $79.00, marked down to $59.00 with an extra 20% off. With all the taxes, I only ended up paying $27.00 for it after the gift card. Nice.
I meandered through the Bastion Square public market, and found these pretty blush and sparkle earrings.
From there, I wandered over to Flavour Upstairs. This was the first item I found, as I walked in, and was the only item I bought.
Of course, it's not new. I was thrilled to see the tags. Wool and cashmere, handmade in Ireland.
here), they've been around for 50 years. They seem to only make capes and coats now, but I guess they were into skirts in the 80s (this is definitely 80s - very high waist, pre-Great Size Change size 12).
And only $17.99 - that feels like a score. This skirt is incredibly soft. It came with a crappy vinyl belt, which I let the store keep - I'm sure it was not original.
A nice stroll through town, over to the Patch. I liked the feel of this denim blazer - it's a very dark green and blue plaid.
It's by Ralph Lauren, and was $24.95.
My wonderful mother-in-law sent me a very generous cheque for my birthday (which is coming in a couple of weeks!). I had seen this ring in Leka last week and drooled over it.
But I have really thin fingers, so it's rare to find one that fits my pinky!
