And yellow too. This blouse has all the colours!
This outfit garnered a lot of feedback, from full-on look-me-up-and-down to fits of giggles to homeless people hollering at me (apparently, I look like a morning glory). It's the blouse. It's insane, crazyass, and so very very visible! It's also boiling hot 70s polyester, but what can you do? I thrifted it here over the weekend for $14.95.
My coworkers were awed by how the blouse went with the skirt. It's not quite the same shade of purple, but it goes well.
I last wore this bit of purple leather goodness here (2nd outfit) back in March for a casual weekend look.
The stuff:
Many of my more fashionably-inclined colleagues agreed that these neon orange shoes made the outfit, giving it a more modern and less of an I-am-a-vintage-crazy-person (well, I am, but no one needs to know that). I last wore them here in March with Spanish ladies.
I kept the bling very minor as all that colour and the ruffles were blingy enough.
Pale pink studs.
Blouse (vintage 70s, thrifted), skirt (Chia, vintage 80s, thrifted), shoes (Big Presence Desmond, Fluevog), studs (local).
LOVE that top on you, you wear it so well Sheila! :) It does pair really nicely with that purple skirt.
ReplyDeleteThats a beautiful colour scheme Sheila - that shirt reminds of Carolina Herrera designer 80s era.
ReplyDeleteYou look very fancy - i think you look amazing.
Well, I would have been looking at you too - in admiration and envy! I adore the blouse and skirt together, you look fantastic, Sheila! xxx
ReplyDeleteI love those 60's style ruffled blouses - I used to have a white one, but the polyester was like being encased in saran wrap so I had to get rid of it. I LOVE the colours in yours and it works perfectly with the purple skirt and orange crush shoes.
ReplyDeleteOmg I love your blog. I have just found it and can't wait to read it cover to cover, as it were. You are so Penelope Garcia, which is a huuuuuge compliment btw.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been checking in very often lately, but when I saw this picture I had to see the outfit! The blouse is a tutti frutti confection of swirliness, and it's gorgeous! Too bad it's polyester, but I'm so glad you're willing to sacrifice comfort to bring happiness to so many eyes.
