Phew! One more day till the weekend, and it is feeling like a very long week, my friends.
I've been training my other-city counterpart for the last two days - hi, Wendy! - and it's a LOT, both for me to export and for her to import. She's a lovely person and I'm happy to working with her, even though we won't see each other too much. Not much in the world of travel for Admins.Anyway, I didn't want to scare the heck out of her with my usual crazyass ensembles, so I went more sedate. Is this sedate? I don't even know anymore!
I love this orange top - it's been a long-time favourite. I last wore it on another Thursday, here in April (with sequins!).
The cream satin pencil skirt is another wardrobe staple for me - how is it that I haven't worn these together before? I last wore it here, also in April, with my beautiful kimono blouse that ripped on the next wearing. Sad face.
Just a hint of ink, because I'm badass that way, hee hee.
The stuff:
First wearing of these funky sandals, purchased here for $25.00. They were really comfy for walking around.
Brass bling:
Some of my favourite things, including my spiky Midzo designer cuff.
Blouse (Michael Kors, consignment), skirt (Bedo, thrifted), shoes (Anne Ross, consignment), belt (Club Monaco), earrings (Plum), spinner ring (Twang & Pearl), wood ring (Dots), stone ring (90s).
After work, I went to the baby shower, which consisted of some balloons and a bunch of women drinking wine. That's my kind of baby shower! I went out after for another drink and tottered home to hang out with L.
Today, I went black and white.
This was a really comfy outfit, even though my day was stressful.
This is the first wearing this year of this black pinstriped top. It does up the front with hooks-and-eyes, is nicely fitted through the middle, and has a wonderful portrait collar. I always wear a cami under it, as it's cleavage-o-rama withouth one.
I last wore it here in August in a whackadoo outfit!
The skirt is so swirly - I just love going stairs in it for the way it billows. I last wore it here with pink in May.
The stuff:
All green, all the time! I adore these shoes. They're going to be residents in my closet for a long time. I last wore them here in May with my grandmother's necklace.
Green bling:
These are much more matchy in person, but I always wear them together. The glass necklace is from my mom's childhood (1950s) and the earrings are modern, made from reclaimed plastic). I love how fashion spans the decades!
Top (Heart Moon Star, consignment), skirt (Smoking Lily, thrifted), shoes (Half-Truth Tanya, Fluevog), necklace (vintage 50s), earrings (Dconstruct).
My day was topped off by a trip to the dentist, so oh, the joy. However, my new dentist is awesome and I was in and out of there in 30 minutes. Woo! The week is looking up!
I am drooling over the burnt orange top! I would love to find that exact one! Have a great weekend, Shelia!
ReplyDeleteLOL, there was totally wine at my baby shower too - not that I was able to really partake, but yes, there was wine! I love the black checked skirt and the green accessories!
ReplyDeleteWow, that top and skirt in the first outfit ought to be sold together -- they're perfect for each other. My admiration of pencil skirts is bounding.
ReplyDeleteThat first look in satiny fabric looks amazing, they look like they were meant to be - and the sandals, that's a great pair. I am having such a hard time finding good comfy sandals.
ReplyDeleteI love your orange creamsicle outfit! The high waist on the skirt is perfect with the drape of that top. You should do a book of your outfits! You could do a whole year, and then since you never wear the same outfit twice, you could do another year and sell more books!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that kind of what I'm doing?? I don't want to have to write a whole book!
DeleteYou know you're way far out there when you have to ask if something is sedate or not. Ha! I desperately need a cleave-o-rama top. Glad you got booze at the shower.
ReplyDeleteOooh, I love that orange blouse, AND those funky sandals (what brand are they?), AND the vintage green necklace. You have so much fabulous stuff ;)
ReplyDeleteThe shoes are by Anne Ross, a brand I've never heard of before this.
