Greetings on this rainy west coast day! I thoroughly enjoyed my football-watching, beer-drinking and general carousing yesterday (thanks for asking) and hope everyone is in good spirits today.
It being Black Friday (yes, this has trickled up to Canada *sigh*), I'm going shopping, but to a church rummage/vintage sale. Not so much of the rabid consumerism as Black Friday, but since I'm giving back to my community (assuming I buy something), let's make this a green Friday.
And I'm wearing some green! These OTK olive boots (last seen here with a touch of mustard) are great for warmth and in the rain. I like being able to show them off properly, pulled up to their thigh-high goodness with these skinny tux pants (last worn here under a dress).I also have a bit of green in my sparkly olive cami (not part of the capsule) underneath this wonderful jacket, which I last wore here on my Nerdy Mission.
This jacket is warm enough to function as outerwear, so I'm just adding this vintage silk scarf for a bit of neck coverage. The mink rose helps balance the scarf, don't you think?
For rain coverage and keeping the fingers toasty, I've added a brown velvet cloche (with another pin on that), and my cashmere-lined leather long gloves.
Cat and I are off to the wilds of Oak Bay! I feel like a proper English lady...with a twist. Oak Bay has a reputation for being very snooty - "behind the Tweed Curtain" they say.
Tonight, we are off to an art opening (I may bust out a Wild Card outfit!), and tomorrow night is Winesday, plus another performance by my dear burlesque-ing friend. Woo!
Jacket (Pink Tartan, consignment), cami (Mexx, thrifted), pants (no label, thrifted), boots (Pegabo), hat (Shelley West), scarf (The Vera Studio, thrifted), mink pin (consignment), silver/amber pin (gift from Mom), gloves (Club Monaco, consignment), earrings (gift from Elaine).
Very stylish! Yes, I like the rose to balance the scarf. It does the trick! And I love the hat, gloves, and the jacket! Have fun. Hope you find some treasures!

The jacket and the hat- such a 30's something jazz age look! So vibrant. I see I missed a brooch party, so off to check it out now- Happy black Friday, aka Buy Nothing Day!
ReplyDeleteFabulous hat my dear. And I love the OTK boots.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your wild card!
Gorgeous scarf and I love those high boots.
ReplyDeleteThe hat totally makes this outfit. The boots - incredible, but the hat sets it off. The only shopping I did today was online. I had a little bit of dough left in my paypal account so I went shopping at Sockdreams. I got a pair from that brand that you and Lynn Dylan got the Chat Noir socks - I got the Koi socks.
ReplyDeleteYou look very sexy in this ensemble, Sheila. I haven't gotten out of my pjs all day, but so would have for a vintage sale :)
ReplyDeleteThose boots are so dreamy - love the olive color. Happy shopping and Happy Winesday!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving it!! Great boots and ensemble!! The "tweed curtain"? Hilarious!! I've never heard that. Enjoy your weekend and stay warm.
ReplyDeleteLOL about the Tweed Curtain - I've never heard that. But you look very posh in your lovely cloche. And I have a thing for over-the-knee boots lately. Yours are awesome.
ReplyDeleteOh, the hat!!! Takes an already incredibly gorgeous outfit up a notch. :)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good shopping day :) Love the scarf to compliment the boots!
ReplyDeleteA perfect outfit for your day's mission! Warm enough to not require a bulky coat that you would need to carry around one indoors, snug parts and top to try at least some things over so you won't need a changing room, and awesome-looking!
ReplyDeleteSheila...this is one of the coolest outfits! I just love everything about it.
ReplyDeleteThe boots and jacket are divine. You look very edgy, cool and sophisticated.
I adore your style. You have a way of dressing that is just perfection and very Sheila. This outfit is edgy in all the right ways.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute boots! I love your idea of the "green" Friday. I can say I didn't buy one thing on Friday and steer as far away as possible from malls or anything remotely like it because I hate traffic so much. But I am waiting for cyber Monday for some on line deals. ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely, Sheila. I had in my mind, 'sexy Miss Marple' then scrolled down and saw you were thinking of English lady style! Those boots are just amazing and just right with the tweed jacket.
ReplyDeleteHope you did well at your Green Friday sale...
Fun, I do so love the Kim Cattrall suit, especially when you break it up into pieces. The jacket looks great with pants, and those to-die-for boots!
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit--you look like you just came in from a fox hunt or some other horsey activity!!
ReplyDeleteLove this look!! So chic
