I found this gorgeous skirt in a consignment shop a couple of weeks ago. It was about $30. I love all the colours in it, and the chrysanthemum pattern.
It has a slit at the back; it's actually a hidden zipper, so you can adjust the height of the slit. It's by Vivienne Tam, and the quality is just awesome.
The stuff:
I pulled the purple out of one of the chrysanthemum colours, and did the same with the yellow, of course.
I wore my heart necklace, and Dad's ring.

I wore large pearl dome studs (forgot to put them in the above pictures).
Yesterday morning, I took the last picture of Othello:
Yesterday morning, I took the last picture of Othello:
Cardigan (no label, consignment), cami (Plum), skirt (Vivienne Tam, consignment), shoes (Friis and Company, gift from L), earrings (Aldo Accessories), necklace (consignment), ring (Dad's, vintage 1960s).
I've been reading your blog for awhile and never commented before. But, being a cat lady myself, I just had to tell you I'm so so sorry for your loss. My cat (Murphy) passed away a few months ago & I know how hard it can be. Othello was a beautiful cat & I'm sure he had a very happy and loving home with you.
ReplyDelete((hug))
ReplyDeleteI have read many blogs throughout the years and cannot remember any photo evoking genuine tears as this. His sweetness radiates even via this electronic box.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you.
So sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about Othello. :-(
ReplyDeleteSheila, I've been thinking of you and Othello. I know you gave Othello a great life, and that is the best we can do for our little furry family members. Keep your chin up. There are lots of people out here thinking of you!
ReplyDeleteLesa
You look great in these colours :D
ReplyDeleteI;m sorry to hear of your loss :'(
Sal xXx
You faked it well with these great colors. And this is the first I've heard of a zippered slit! (Wow! You've got to be careful when you "say" that.)
ReplyDeleteShoes in the last two posts have been mah-vel-ous.
I know I can't come close to sharing your sadness re. Othello. But I DO know you gave him a good life!
Sheila - I am so so sorry for his passing. The final photo is a great one. He seems to be saying "I'm ready for my close-up, Mr. DeVille".
ReplyDeleteHi, Sheila!
ReplyDeleteI always read your blogs ever since and this is the first time that I'd post a comment. I feel the loss... Like you, I also love cats and right now I have 3 (if none died and got lost, I would probably have 33).
Othello is such a darling and I'm sure he had a happy life having you and L as "parents".

I adore this outfit. The colors are stunning and I love the way it all ties together.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet is Othello? What a gorgeous cat. I'm so sorry you have to say goodbye to him.
I am SO sorry about dear Othello. Sending you my deepest wishes for comfort & strength. May all your memories be sweet...many cyber hugs from me to you: ((((((Sheila)))))))
ReplyDeleteOh poor lovely Othello - so sorry Sheila ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteI'm very sorry. My dog was put to sleep a few weeks ago (at age 14), and I know it is heartbreaking. After a few weeks you may start to remember him as he was before he got ill, and that helps.
ReplyDeleteYour outfit is beautiful.
Sheila, Love the last pic of you and Othello. Thanks for sharing you life with us and loss with us. We feel it for you also.
ReplyDeleteKeep fakin till ya make it, you are awesome!
Oh, Sheila, I'm so sorry. Big hugs to you.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for posting, Tizzy, and for your kind words.

Jenny, thanks! Othello was a great cat, my first pet as an adult.
Kayleigh, thank you, sweetie, I appreciate your hugs. *hug*
Thanks, Tat. *hug*
Thanks, Lady Cardigan. Ah, your poor dog - you have my sympathy. We did go through some photos of him when he was tiny and it did help, thanks.
Thanks, Alison, and thank you for the email as well.
Hi, Erin, thank you so much. It helps to know other people "knew" him.
Thanks so much, Kristen. *hug*
ReplyDeleteSheila I cannot imagine having to go through this.
ReplyDeleteJust reading the post and looking at the picture have me all teared up (just hope my boss does not walk int)
My heart goes out to you and btw - you look spectacular.
HUGS
Thanks so much, Lorena. *hug*
ReplyDeleteSheila, I teared up when reading your post today. I'm so sorry for your loss. And I just want to say how wonderful of an owner you are to make that difficult choice to take him to the vet for that final visit. I've always felt that even though it's harder on us as owners, that it can be the kinder choice for the animals who rely on us for everything. And now I am all teary eyed again. *hugs*
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you had to part with your Othello ... I'm another cat lady with a gorgeous red maine coon and a street kitty ... they're my other children and fill my life with as much love and laughter as my human children. Big hugs to you
ReplyDeleteI teared up when reading your post today. It tugs at my heart strings. I know it must have been so hard to do, but what a good pet-mom you are to take Othello for a final vet visit once you realized it would be the best thing for him. You are a strong, loving woman. *hug*
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for beeing late for that, but wanted to say me too, I'm very sad for loosing your beloved Othello...I liked him in your picties...he was such a big performer!
ReplyDelete...Hugs for You.

Tina, thank you so much for your kind comments - I really appreciate it. *hug*
ReplyDeleteWendy, hello, and thank you for your kind words. Please give your kitties extra hugs for Othello.
Lyn, thanks, sweetie.
