I only realized once I got to work that I was wearing mustard, ketchup and mayo - all I needed was a bit of green and I'd be relish too!
And...the bad news. We found out tonight that our beloved kitty, Othello, has cancer. We love him dearly - we got him just before we got married, so he's just over 13 years old - and this is a huge blow to us. Since we don't have kids, he and Inigo are our little buddies. We're going to try to give him as much love as we can with the time we have left with him.
Forgive my indulgence, but I'll be including pictures of him in my posts when I can. I want to have memories of him for as long as we have left.
Dress (Vero Moda), cardigan (Future Paradise), belt (Plum), shoes (Expressions), necklace (Melanie Lynne), earrings (don't remember).
So sorry about your cat!ReplyDelete
You look gorgeous, I love that dress.ReplyDelete
My heart really goes out to you for Othello. There are not words enough.
I've been reading your blog for awhile, but this is the first time I've left a comment. So sorry about Othello. My mom and I had to say goodbye to our 11-year-old cat last year - sad times. You gave him a good life!ReplyDelete
Oh Sheila, I am so sorry about your kitty. It is very, very hard when they are sick or when they have to leave us. I may be a crazy cat lady, but my furry babies are a part of my family. I had my cat Jesse for 20 years, before my husband and kids, I was devastated when he passed away. Enjoy all the time you have left and know you gave him all the love you will. Blessings!ReplyDelete
Give little Othello a hug for me. No doubt you *already* provide him with loving care. We know that. He knows that.
So sorry to hear about Othello :'-(. Very sad.ReplyDelete
I do love that dress though - if you ever decide to get rid of it can I have first dibs ;-)
Oh your poor baby. I'm so sorry. I'm more than happy to see pictures of your kitty family.ReplyDelete
On a shallow note, I'm in love with the necklace and the print on that dress.
Oooh noooo, poor Othello. He's so sweet. Indulge him all you want, and give him lots of kitty kisses from everyone on the internet!ReplyDelete
My husband and I worry a lot about when Sophie will start to go downhill; we're like you, we've had her our whole marriage and she and George are our "kids". So indulge away, my friend!
so so so very sorry to hear about othello. it is evident how much you adore your cats, so i know you will miss him. at least you get to enjoy the rest of his time with you.ReplyDelete
(and i think this is my favorite styling of this dress yet.)
Those polka dots are wonderful. I'm sorry to hear about your kitty.ReplyDelete
Love the fun outfit, should I say nom nom ketchup and mustard...ReplyDelete
So sorry about the sad news about Othello. CANCER SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, you poor things - it's so hard to hear bad news about a pet, isn't it? Sending hugs.ReplyDelete
Sheila, my husband and I are so sorry about Othello. I send him pictures of your kitties all the time, and they always brighten his day. Our Tessio is 17 now, still healthy thank goodness, but we dread the day we will have to say good-bye. I'm sure you gave Othello a wonderful, happy life.ReplyDelete
I'm so sorry about your kitty -- losing an animal is so hard. But just love him as best you can, as you intend! I will be thinking of you and your family.ReplyDelete
You look lovely in yellow, by the way. It goes beautifully with your hair.
I am really sorry about Othello :(ReplyDelete
At home we have two crazy little dogs so I know this must be tough on you both. On the positive side, at least you know.
I think this dress would be amazing with turquoise... I was gonna say green but then I heard the Christmas carols..
Oh no, I'm so sad to hear the news about your lovely Othello. I too know from experience how hard it is to lose a pet. I hope he will be with you a while longer.ReplyDelete
I'm so sorry to hear about your kitty. I don't know if I've seen him on your blog before, but he has a face just like my Sammy and that makes me even sadder.ReplyDelete
So sorry to read about your kitty :(ReplyDelete
Oh no, poor Othello! I'm so sorry to hear the news. Pets are such a part of the family.ReplyDelete
You do look fabulous though, if that helps any.
Oh Sweetie, I'm so sorry about your kitty -- that is such sad news indeed. But clearly he has been a well loved fur baby and you are a wonderful cat mommie. May your little family enjoy eachother to the fullest and his time be filled with snuggles, peace and comfort.ReplyDelete
Sheila, so sorry about Othello. I know how it feels. Enjoy your time with him and give him lots of hugs.ReplyDelete
Love today's look, very picnic-y!
I am so sad to hear about Othello's cancer.ReplyDelete
So sorry about your kitty. They really do become your children. I LOVE your outfit today! The mix of colors is just amazing and i love the polka dots!ReplyDelete
Thanks, Megan, I appreciate that.
Steph, thank you so much for commenting (and for reading!). Yes, it's horrible, thank you for understanding.
Lisa, thank you. It's a really tough thing to go through.
Thanks, Jean, we're giving him the best we can to make sure his last days are good.
Thank you, Tat. Yes, I will ship you the dress when I'm tired of it. :)
Thanks, Jenny...on both counts.
Kristen, I know, it's so awful, thank you. I knew you'd understand. I know George and Sophie are loved by you guys.
Thanks, Sam, that's so kind of you. Me too, on the dress, although I should have worn a cami!
Alison, ha, thanks. It does! It's rotten.
Thank you so much, Cat. It's the worst.
Thank you so much, Anonymous, I appreciate that. Give Tessio a hug for Othello.
Thanks, Julia, I appreciate that. Yellow is one of my favourite colours.

Kasmira, thank you, I know you lost a kitty recently. *hugs*
Audi, they are our fam, and we're both a mess. Thanks, it does help actually.
Kayleigh, thank you so much, hon. We are doing just that.
Thanks, Chris, we are. I like that: picnic-y.
Thanks, Kiki. Polka dots make me happy.
Oh Sheila, that's such a blow. I know that the love from the two of you will help Othello make the best of his time with you. I know what it's like to lose a kitty, so give him a head scratch from me, and a hug from me to you too.ReplyDelete
Thanks so much, Tina, yes, it's been a horrible experience, but we're giving him all the love we have. Hug, SheilaReplyDelete
