I am trying to rein in my retail therapy sessions lately, but surely a little stop in a thrift shop doesn't count, right? Especially when I found this BCBGMaxAzria dress for $18:

It's a wrap-around, and the quality of the jersey is FAB - it's actually really heavy. It has a big ruffle at the bottom, but that black ruffle peeking out is actually
this Noa Noa skirt that I got a few weeks back.
I couldn't resist a twirl!

I probably could have done a necklace with this outfit, but with so much going on on the bottom half - 'Vogs, fishnets, black ruffled netting, lots of swooshing as I walked - I kept the rest of it pretty simple.
The stuff:

I like the mix of colours in the pattern: scrawly black (reminds me of when a pen dies), brown, beige, pinky-red, ice cream pink and pale pink. I think I'll be able to do a lot with those colours.
Notice that my heels are getting lower - I'm also scaling back on my noon walks/stairs to rest up.
A close-up of my ol' basic blacks:

I love that bracelet. It's rose o'clock!
Dress (BCBGMaxAzria, thrifted), cami (gift from Ruth), skirt (Noa Noa), shoes (Fluevog teapots), bracelet (Le Chateau), earrings (The Cobbler).
Lovely~ I love how the floofy underskirt shapes this dress. The print is so cute and whimsical. =D
ReplyDeleteThe ruffle peeking out is so cute. Good idea!
ReplyDeleteI love that dress :-). With the black ruffle at the bottom I think you need something black up top (maybe the missing necklace?) as my eye was drawn down, rather than up to your face :-)
ReplyDeleteThe pattern on that dress is divine; I wouldn't have resisted it either! Love how you remixed that cool black skirt under it.
ReplyDeleteIt's so "YOU"! You look great in it and it looks like you have a lot of fun wearing it and twirling!
ReplyDeleteThat dress NEEDED to come home with you.
ReplyDeleteWow that is one gorgeous dress! I love it with the Noa Noa peeking out. Very very fun!
ReplyDeleteI adore thick jersey dresses as they hide little imperfections...
ReplyDeleteWhat a great buy... I have to say that the first thing that called my attention was the ruffle, never did I expect for it to be the Noa Noa skirt. SUPER !
Thanks, Megan! I do love a whimsical print.
ReplyDeleteWendy, thank you! I admit I stole the idea from Audi.
Tat, thanks! Yeah, you're right - next time! Thanks so much for the advice.
Kristen, I knew you would like it - queen of the patterns! :) Thanks so much.
Thanks, Rebecca! Yes, I twirled all day, hee hee.
Sal, you're so right!
Alison, isn't it lovely? I was so stoked to get such a deal on it. Thanks!
Lorena, yes, exactly! Glad you like it, thank you.
