And I'm Off! It's My Weekend!

Although we are Canadian, L and I are rabid NFL fans - and since tomorrow is US Thanksgiving (Happy Turkey Day!) and it is a day of football - following our annual tradition, we are both taking the Thursday and Friday off. I'll be watching football most of the day tomorrow (no turkey, though). I might post what I wear to watch football for a laugh - my hang-around-the-house attire is...erm...pretty casual.

On Friday, my dear friend Cat and I are going consignment/thrift store shopping all day, and then I am getting a tattoo! This is my birthday gift from L. It will be my very first one (I suspect, not my last). I'll post a picture of it and tell you all about it over the weekend.

Anyway, I am SO happy to be off! I thought I'd go with my lovely birthday skirt to celebrate:
Sorry it's hard to see, but I am wearing bright purple tights. My hair also remained flat for about...oh, 10 minutes after I stepped outside (it's been pouring buckets for a few weeks here on the West coast - hello, rainy season).

I wore the boyfriend jacket most of the day:
Streeeetch! I felt very hip and chic, which was a good way to feel. Ann at work said I looked like a flower. Aw.

The stuff:
My rockin' shoes, and some black accessories. I love that yellow and purple glass necklace.

Jacket (Banana Republic, thrifted), cardigan (Jacob), cami (InWear), skirt (Le Chateau, birthday gift), tights (Hue), shoes (JLo), belt (Plum), bracelet (Le Chateau), necklace (ilovebracelets.com).

  2. GORGEOUS color combo, and I love that floral skirt! you did a great job of making this outfit look seasonally appropriate while still looking vibrant and fun. Have a great long weekend -- I hope your favorite team wins (I'm a hockey fan, so I don't even know what football teams are playing), and ooh, good luck with the tattoo! Can't wait to see what you get. I've got an idea for *another* one rolling around in my head...

  7. When I lived in Vancouver, we always had chili for the football days. Plus chips and dip. Pig out day, yeah!
Talking about "home attire", come and check out my post where I show the world "how I really look when I walk the dog". I think after seeing that photo anything goes!

  9. You look great! Just to warn you though...tattoo's are addictive! Lol! I have three, one on my right foot, one on my lower back and my last one is a small heart on my thumb, just below the knuckle. When my Mum and Dad came to visit at Christmas, I asked her if she wanted to get a tattoo with me, her first at 63! We had the same tattoo in the same place, I think of her every time I look at it :-) She says that she wants another one when they come back :-) Told you .... addictive!

  10. I love this outfit! I got a tatoo when I was in my early 46, one was enough.
I too will be watching as much football as I can although none of the game match up's are very exciting. There could be some spoilers in the crowd though.
Enough your time off, I know I'll enough mine!

  13. Lesa, I'd love to see your tattoo - let me know if you have a picture of it posted.

Audi, thank you so much! Eh, the football was unexciting, really. I am already thinking of my next tattoo - I would love to see some pictures of yours!

Thanks, Alison! I'm a total convert to tattoos now, I think!

Thanks, and welcome, Aradia - I love this skirt too.

Thank you, kiltsnquilts! I know - I think it won't be long before I get another tattoo. That is so cool that you and your mum have matching tattoos. I don't think mine would go for it!

    Thanks, Wendy - I love pin-up girls.

Thanks, Chris! I would love to see a pic of your tattoo. Yeah, the games were not so exciting, but it's more the all-day event that I enjoy.

Julia, you are so sweet - I laugh when you call me "child". I'm pretty sure I'm old enough to be your mom! Thank you!

Sherylyn, no kidding! Cat and I had a great time shopping! We both got some amazing stuff. Thank you so much.

    Thanks, FA!
