Must've Been the Chartreuse

Well, I went back at work after so many leisurely and fun days off...and it was not that bad! I only had 195 emails, and had most of them dealt with by the time my day ended.

Must've been the chartreuse! It has magical "Get Sh*t Done" properties.
"That's a lot of chartreuse," said colleague Glenn.

  • Knit top - no label, thrifted; purchased here for $8.95
  • Trousers - Zara, consignment; purchased here for $36.00
  • Sandals - Neosens; first seen here last weekend in my first party outfit
  • Coat - Cache, consignment; last worn here in May

I've had this knit top and slouchy trousers paired together in my closet since I found the top back in January.
I've had the trousers since January, waiting for warm weather to come along.

I need a copper belt! None of my spring/summer belts quite worked with this outfit.
I did a front tuck anyway - the knit top looked too baggy otherwise.

I enjoyed the flappy legs of the trousers as I walked around the office, chatting with my coworkers as I refilled the empty coffee machines and fixed a jammed printer.
They did wrinkle like mad over the course of the day. (The trousers, not my coworkers or the office appliances!)

Incognito. Oh, that was a very early morning...
It was also chilly out - we're back to slightly lower temps, and I needed a coat.

The stuff:
I broke these sandals in a bit at the party last week, and now they're perfect.

Copper bling:
My new-to-me copper bracelet was lovely - I showed all my copper off to my colleague Nafisa in our catch-up meeting.

  • Copper/enamel brooch/earrings - Matisse by Renoir, vintage 50s, vintage fair
  • Copper feather cuff - vintage 60s, consignment
  • Copper rings - consignment
  • Copper bracelet - vintage 60s, Sidney, consignment; purchased here for $14.00

  1. Lovely! Maybe a belt in a blue of some sort could work?

    1. Agreed, I think a blue or turquoise would have worked.

  2. Until I read your outfit list and then enlarged the image the outfit looked like it was a set. What a super pairing! I love the fit and flow of the pants and what appears to me as a pattern in the top. Your copper jewelry, as always, is superb. As for a belt, yes to copper or perhaps cobalt blue or deep forest green.
You’ve come off a fabulous week! May the glow remain with you for many days to come!
    Cheers, Laurie

    1. They were meant to be worn together! The top doesn't have a pattern, but it is a thick knit in some sort of fiber like linen or viscose. I like forest green - a hard colour to find in belts, though!

  3. Snap! I wore a chartreuse dress on Monday too - I was on the same wavelength as your commenters as i wore an electric blue trimmed waistcoat with it. It's such a happy colour, isn't it? xxx

  4. I think the bold leopard print works really well with your outfit....maybe a leopard print belt?

  5. Oh...this has my love. What a charming co-ord. You look fab. And the sandals are a dream. Not too much chartreuse at all.
How about a white belt? And if I recall correctly, you have a big cupper belt??

  6. Totally love this look Sheila! So unusual for us to do all one colour and yet it's so blooming effective when we do! xxx
