Oh yeah! This is lovely silk/cotton mock-neck sweater was picked up for a song during one of my "5-minute shops" before brunch back in December.
This coat-dress is not meant to be worn without something under it - I can tell by the ginormous arm-holes. I wore it with the top half opened like lapels.
I wore fleece-lined tights and wee sporty shorts underneath the wrap, just in case a gust of wind decided to play "Show your knickers!" It stayed in place very well, with no gaping issues. But the wind has died down, and we only had a bit of spitty rain today. All the doom and gloom and the S-word may be for naught! We shall see...
I was snuggly warm in this dress all day - it is like wearing a coat, only without sleeves.

I know many of you are appreciating how well the plaid is lined up, front and back.
I loved the voluminous pockets!

Outerwear - I was ready for sub-zero temps! But I didn't need the toque or scarf on the way home.
I even ended up stashing the gloves in the dress pockets on the way home - AND unzipping the down-filled new-to-me puffer coat.

Isn't it a great colour? As I was walking to work (in the dark), I realized how bright and visible it is.
It was very warm - down filling is the best.

Wake me up for more coffee.
It's not terribly stylish, but a short coat that is warm enough for the depths of winter is a handy thing to have, especially in this lovely chartreuse.

ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning sunset photo, Sheila!
ReplyDeleteYour new-to-you coat dress absolutely meets my approval, and I love how you paired it with the chartreuse coat, which is indeed a great colour! xxx
The coat-dress says warmth, comfort, style and winter coziness! That’s my kind of outfit. :) The chartreuse down puffer seems to highlight a similar striped color running through the dress. And gosh you have multiple colors of the Origianl Sábado. I scoped out Fluevogs online and even on sale they are a bit steep for my pocketbook so I will continue to admire them on you from afar!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sunset. The sky matches the colors of the background for your blog!
Cheers, Laurie
Good eye, Laurie - there's a yellow and a caramel stripe in the coat-dress. Yup, I bought the blue ones new (with gift cards!) at full price (yikes) then got the black ones in a massive Sample Sale for $199.00 - a score, considering they were current stock and went right back to full price after!
DeleteI love that well-aligned checked coat dress and those kick ass boots. I love finding forgotten practical tops like your black top.
ReplyDeleteThe sunset is glorious. xxx
Nice wintery outfit.
