Studded and Mini-Skirted

I'm trying to force the weather to get warmer by wearing summer stuff.
It's a t-shirt and a miniskirt! Maybe it will get sunny?

  • Jacket - Dolce & Gabbana, vintage, thrifted; last worn here (2nd outfit) in May with pink and floral
  • T-shirt - Gen-O, thrifted; first seen here in May with a big skirt and tweed jacket
  • Skirt - Ann Taylor, thrifted; purchased here for $14.95
  • Shoes - Effortless Vivian, Fluevog; last worn here in April with vivid pastels

It did not happen. As I type this, in the early evening the grey clouds loom and threaten to dump more rain on us.
I'm so ready for summer! I did an inventory of my not-yet-worn items, and most of them are my summer dresses. It's just been too cold to wear them.

Anyway, enough grousing, as I know others are dealing with floods, droughts, and heatwaves.
This is the first wearing of this new-to-me mini-skirt.

Lest you think I'm being scandalous, I am wearing nylons. Co-tenant Emily squealed, "It's mini-skirt day!" and showed off hers.
My colleague Gary called this look "casual" due to the studded jacket. It does have a jean jacket-ish vibe.

Without the jacket, although I never took it off.
Too cold!

I did some physical stuff in the office to warm up.
Sorted through giant cartons of reusable office supplies. Nothing goes to waste on my watch!

Ready for some sunshine.
I froze walking home in this. I wish I'd worn a coat over it.

Accoutrements:
Thank goodness for warm silk scarves.

  • Scarf - Lanvin, vintage 70s, consignment
  • Mask - Lazy Susan's

The stuff:
Everyone loves these shoes, from my shredder bin guy to a random dude in the elevator.

Matchy bling:
First wearing of this new-to-me necklace - it tangled with the pens I was sorting, but was otherwise good. I like long necklaces.

  • Necklace - Art Collection; purchased here for $7.95
  • Earrings - Plum
  • Wide silver cuff - vintage, thrifted, Powell River
  • Bracelet with glass stones - vintage 1920s, vintage mall
  • Steel/acrylic ring - Calvin Klein, thrifted
  • Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes
  • Bug brooch - Le Chateau, c. 2000

  1. (Kezzie here- Google is being mean): our weather had been very changeable although this week, we have very warm weather. I went to a concert in London last night at a huge venue and it was unbearable.
Your jacket does have denim vibes.
I really like it. It is really well fitting and a lovely colour. The new mini is fun! The shoes deserve the admiration they receive!

This is a really nice outfit Sheila and has me wishing for warmer weather so I could get some of my mini skirts out again! thank goodness it's back to more normal early winter temps and sunshine so I have temporarily packed away the winter woolies, haha!

  4. You do suit a mini skirt, Sheila, and this one's fun and fabulous! I'm sorry the weather gods are still playing foul. We're having +30°C tomorrow, so I'd gladly send over some of that! I'm not surprised everybody loves does shoes, they're absolutely adorable! xxx

  5. I love those shoes also. My swim suit has a hole in the knee, so I doubt I could rock a mini skirt, but it suits you.

  6. That is such a cute outfit - I love the pale blue with the patterned skirt. You could definitely wear that outfit here - we had a humidex of 41 degrees celsius yesterday. Fortunately today was not as hot...
