Green, Golden Pleats Twirled and Dragons

I suddenly realized last night that I only have a few days left before the holiday break to wear all my super-sparkly items! This golden skirt is probably the tamest of them, but I had to get cracking and make an outfit with it.
I've been wanting to wear this blouse for a while - I love the dark green, even though it doesn't photograph well in our gloomy mornings.

  • Cardigan - LL Bean, thrifted; first worn here in March with cream and floral
  • Blouse - Nygard, consignment; last seen here in February for Cat's 50th birthday surprise
  • Skirt - Ralph Lauren, consignment; last worn here in June with baby blue and jungle
  • Shoes - Channi B; last seen here in September for a Mom-Day Adventure
  • Coat (below) - Hilary Radley, thrifted; last worn here last week

I absolutely love the skirt - this is my fourth wearing of it, and I'm down to $10 per wear already.
I twirled for two of my coworkers.

I thought about wearing a blazer with this - I have done so for the last three outfits - but the soft comfort of this mohair sweater lured me. I liked how it exactly matched the forest green of the pussy-bow blouse too.
Pleats! I used to think pleats were "so old lady" when I was a teenager. Now I love 'em.

Masked up.
Under the bright lights of the office, I looked very festive.

Outerwear - we're in the low single digit temps this week.
All my warm coats are needed, including the Unsafe Ocelot. It's quilted and plush, so incredibly comforting to wear.

Accoutrements:
The hat! I showed it off here, way back in May 2010 as part of my "Never Seen" archives, including a picture of me from our Lame Superhero Party (I was the Full Minty). It was a Christmas gift c. 1985-6 from Mom and Dad from Fairweather - the matching scarf is long gone.

  • Hat - Fairweather, c. 1985-6, gift from Mom & Dad
  • Fur scarf - thrifted
  • Gloves - Parkhurst
  • Mask - by Mom

I loved how it looked, but it didn't do much to keep my ears warm!

The stuff:
Love these shoes. This is their 26th wearing!

Dragon bling:
I don't wear this necklace and earrings set that often, as they have to be planned for.

  • Necklace/bracelet - vintage 1950s, vintage expo, gift from L
  • Earrings - consignment
  • Jade/brass ring - vintage 70s, Mom's
  • Feather ring - Fossil, thrifted

  1. My winter coat needs to be warmth over fashion. I wish ai could find a replacement for a red wool version I once had. I loved that coat. Your office mates got a treat.

  3. Nothing tame about that gorgeous skirt, Sheila, nor should be reserved for "old ladies" ;-)
And of course you had to twirl it for your co-workers, that's what these skirts are for.
All those dark forest greens are gorgeous too, although it's a colour that tends to photograph badly when it's gloomy.
The hat is simply divine and combines absolutely perfectly with the Unsafe Ocelot! xxx

  4. There is something of a thoroughly wonderful 21st century take on Dior's iconic New Look to the lines of that beautiful outfit with its gloriously wide skirt.
