Fancy Friday: Disco Vest, Boss Pants and the Six Foot With Skulls

Happy Friday, my friends! For today's Fancy Friday, I felt like being ultra-sparkly.
Disco vest!

  • Blouse - Bird by Juicy Couture, thrifted; last worn here in September with leather and copper ruffles
  • Vest - Nygard, thrifted, Sidney; last seen here in December 2020 for a visit to the periodontist (a great outfit!)
  • Trousers - Red Valentino, consignment; first worn here in April with Gaultier
  • Shoes - Enneagram Individualist, Fluevog; last seen here in April with angora and houndstooth
  • Coat (below) - Sarmite Wearable Art, consignment; purchased here yesterday for $200.00

If I'd been with an office full of people, I probably would have worn a jacket to hide the utterly boring back.
Yes, because I'm not ever seen from the rear - don't bother putting anything there!

I noticed in the elevators that it made disco ball reflections, so I danced every time I had to run an errand. It made me feel happy.
Two gents from the 12th floor joined me, and I also boogied with my Purolator delivery dude, and the security guard. Spreading a little disco joy.

This is the first time I've worn my vintage slip-pants that I thrifted from the here Patch in August. I paid $14.95 for them.
They were perfect under these wool trousers. They kept me warm and my pants didn't crease as much. LOVE.

Masked up.
After work, I did some of my Christmas shopping. I'm done now, except for a few more things for L, which I'll do on the weekend.

Outerwear - of course, I could not resist wearing my Six Foot coat...and my Alexander McQueen scarf also gets it very first wearing.
I feel like a boss in the trousers, and totally large and in charge in this outfit while I shopped.

It had many admirers and was a joy to wear - warm and soft. I think the black sections are cashmere and the pink is wool - they definitely feel like it.
I did have my white Doc Marten on (I don't wear good shoes out in the weather).

I'm visible in the gloom too.
Can't miss me!

Accoutrements:
I hadn't worn the scarf as it's very much in my spring/summer wardrobe colours - I'm sure I'll wear it a ton then.

  • Scarf - Alexander McQueen, consignment; purchased here for $125.00
  • Beret - Club Monaco, thrifted
  • Gloves - consignment
  • Mask - by Mom

The stuff:
The blue buckles on these shoes match the blue blouse exactly, and these were a perfect match for the coat. Yay, matchy!

Bold bling:
Isn't that massive black brooch perfect on the coat?

  • Brooch - vintage fair
  • Silver earrings - Brenda Schoenfeld, 1992, vintage mall
  • Lapis lazuli ring/Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes

I'm off for the weekend - this is our last quiet-ish one of the year. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend - I'll be back on Sunday with tales of adventure!

  1. Slip pants?! I've never even heard of such a garment. I'd wear them in a New York minute. :)

  4. Fantastic outfit, Sheila! No wonder people were inclined to boogie with you. I love all the pops of hot pink, and that coat is even more stunning on! I think I need a pair of slip-pants now, how utterly frivolous! Have a great weekend, my dear! xxx

  9. The "Six-Foot" coat is one of the nicest wool coats I've ever seen, and the way the pink panels are places, you definitely look six feet tall! A great score.
