Blues, Greys and a Giant Vest

Going back to work after a 4-day weekend was not fun - I had to get up so early!
I chose to wrap myself in soft blues and greys, thinking of the late autumn skies (which are mostly grey, and only a bit of blue now).

  • Vest - Pink Martini, consignment; purchased here for $12.50
  • Blouse - Bird by Juicy Couture, thrifted; first worn here in September with funky Philip Lim
  • Trousers - Linda Lundstrom, swap from Caro; last seen here in January with a jacket with ginormous shoulders
  • Shoes - Gentle Souls; last worn here a few weeks ago in November, on another Monday
  • Coat (below) - Auckie Sanft, vintage 60s, thrifted; last seen here a week ago

I built the outfit around this new-to-me knit vest.
I enjoyed swooshing about in it.

I like the patterns in the knit.
 Enjoying my high-waisted giant-legged trousers.

I've had these since August of 2017 - they felt weird to me then, very oversized and baggy.
Now, they feel totally normal. I just had to wait for fashion to catch up to them!

Outerwear - bundled up in the Fuzzy Flamingo.
I didn't really like the vest hanging out the bottom, but I don't have a coat long enough to hide it completely. Ah, whatever.

The stuff:
Comfy shoes after a weekend in slippers!

Simple bling:
I had no energy to do more!

  • Earrings - Brenda Schoenfeld, 1992, vintage mall
  • Lapis lazuli ring/Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes

How many more days till the weekend??

  3. The femininity of the blouse slays me. I'm lying on the floor unconscious from its assault. But smiling. :)

  4. That's a fabulously swishy outfit, feminine with attitude from the heavy metal earrings and platform shoes. Hope your week flies by! xxx

  5. Such a delicious outfit, Sheila. I love how you played with those grey and blue shades. The blouse is so much my cup of tea, I do love a frilly blouse. The long swishy cardigan is a perfect companion for it. The Fuzzy Flamingo continues to make me smile. I live in hope of ever finding something similar, but I know chances are slim. Anyway, the weekend's on the horizon ;-) xxx

    1. Thanks, Ann! I also am a big fan of frilly blouses, and I loved how this one worked with the cardi.

If I ever find another Fuzzy Flamingo, I will buy it and ship it to you!

  8. That waistcoat is a winner. I love how you've played down the colours today, showcasing the understatement instead. Great look x

  9. The light blue and grey look so peaceful and elegant together - I love the big statement mall earrings !
Lately I've been more into earrings and also into bigger and bolder vintage earrings. I found Chanel vintage for 15.00 and Guy Laroche from the 80s for abut 10.00!
