Purple Leather

There may be some odd outfits coming down the pipeline. I have two more weeks left of my spring/summer wardrobe before I flip my closet to fall/winter, and I still have a bunch of things that haven't been worn!
Today, it's this vintage purple leather skirt. It's not really a go-to piece for me, but I still love it.

  • Top - Kut from the Kloth, consignment; last seen here in May with a metal outfit
  • Skirt - Chia, vintage 80s, thrifted; last worn here in August 2018 with grey and orange
  • Shoes - Hispanitas; last seen here in May with triple black and cream patterns

It's not like you find a purple leather skirt everyday.
Being a Monday, I went with a simple top - this is cream t-shirt fabric with an over-layer of sheer black chiffon that's woven with sparkly flowers.

My legs are stiff and sore from Ulti, and my feet still hurt from Friday night.
Just getting a wear in of this skirt before the season ends.

Not feeling like working.
But digging the deep pockets!

The stuff:
These shoes kept my feet happy and my toes stable. Perfect Monday shoes.

Pearly bling:
Nothing too fancy - pearls go with everything, don't they?

  • Bracelet - thrifted
  • Earrings - Aldo Accessories

Our first visitor of the day in the office was Tara, who brought me this wonderfully curated collection of goodies from her crafting and art supplies.
A lovely card that she made, a ton of fun card-stock, two homemade stamps (an S and the shape of my glasses!), ink, an eraser, a nice pen, and package of "Made by Sheila" stickers!

What a lovely and thoughtful gift...someone's getting a Zentangle tile in thanks!

  1. I like this outfit, the blouse is lovely and the purple leather skirt is awesome. I have a few pair of Hispanitas and they are pretty comfy. Try an Epsom salt soak for your tender tootsies, if I wear heels too much during the week my feet and ankles ache and I find the epsom salt soak rejuvenating and usually follow it with a peppermint foot cream.

    1. Thank you, Dar! That sounds like a good idea for my feet, although I loathe peppermint foot cream!

  2. Purple leather? Hell, yes!!
I feel your pain with the foot issues, I spent nine hours in new-to-me heeled boots on Sunday, I've got more blister plasters on my feet than skin.
What a thoughtful - and beautifully presented - gift from Tara! xxx

  3. Love the purple leather skirt and I like how you try to wear more of your wardrobe before the weather changes - I didn't do so well with that this winter, mostly just my favourites on repeat! Has me thinking that I could maybe downsize my winter wardrobe further, but as we were away for a few weeks I'll wait until we have a more 'normal' winter next year for me to see if things really don't get worn!

    1. Thanks, Mica! You know I do the "hangar trick", right? You could probably downsize if you really don't wear your other items. Keep the things you really love!

  4. What a wonderful gift from Tara! And I'm loving that purple leather skirt. What an absolutely gorgeous colour. I too have a quite a bit of Summer stuff I haven't worn yet. I simply have too many clothes to wear them all. Yet I keep buying more ... Ouch, I hope your feet get back to normal soon, I guess it's just a matter of treating them kindly for a couple of days. xxx

    1. It was really sweet of her, I was so touched. I know, the skirt is such a great colour - you don't see 'em like this anymore! Oh, I hear ya, Ann! The ever-growing mound of clothes! My feet are being babied, no worries.

  5. What a pretty styling! I really like the purple leather skirt, such a cute piece. Bonus points for it being vintage. I also love your black shoes with leopard touches. They look both chic and comfortable, a perfect combination in any shoe. Pretty black top too. Nice accessories- pearls do look good worn with everything. You look stunning in this.

The arty goodies Tara made and gifted to you look amazing. I love creative and hand made stuff so much.

  8. Excellent crafting bundle from your friend - that's a nice way to start the week.

I'm already rotating into my winter wardrobe. Bring on the thick tights!

    1. I know, I was so touched by her sweet gift! I'm nearly done her Zentangle.

I'm very strict on my dates: Sept 30th and March 30th (or as close as I can get).
