Origami, Wallpaper, Brocade, and More Cat Pics

The first day back after a long weekend is always rough. I have to talk to people! In person!
My usual strategy of "wear lots of busy things so that people are distracted" was deployed, to some success.

  • Shirt - Cartise, consignment; last worn here in April with these same shoes!
  • Trousers - Noa Noa; last seen here in February with a white lace duster
  • Shoes - Forever 21, consignment; last worn here...in April with this same top!

I had not even realized that I had worn this top/scarf/shoe combo already - today, I floofed the silk scarf off to the side of the neckline to make a more dramatic look, and to tie in the shoes' bright pink.
I'm fond of this shirt (it's not a jacket!) - it's such a cool piece. It's sheer black mesh with strips of white cotton-y fabric sewn onto it in these groovy shapes. It's my origami shirt because it's folded and sewn very intricately.

And these are my wallpaper pants, so named due to their similarity to my grandparents' wallpaper in the 70s. I only wish these were flocked velvet!
That is a woven - not printed - pattern, though. It is lovely fabric.

Hands in pockets, ready to lounge about.
I have all the textures, and I'm ready to face the day.

The stuff:
I thought for sure I'd worn these shoes at least once since April, but no, shame on me! I loved wearing them again - they are such nice vivid colours.

Bright bling:
And they go so well with this scarf!

  • Scarf - Marc Rozier, thrifted
  • Brooch - Mom's, vintage 70s
  • Earrings - thrifted
  • Amber ring - c. 1996
  • Gold/amethyst ring - Frances Jewelers, c. 1965, Dad's

I had taken so many pictures of Vizzini that I couldn't squeeze them all into my Bigass Weekend Wrap-Up, so you get a couple of bonus ones today.

One of his favourite snoozing spots is the bottom of his big post, out on the deck.
"Go away, I'm chillin' here."

It's about 10 degrees warmer on our glassed-in deck than the rest of the house. I plunked myself down to hang with Mr. Kitty.
"I want to chase the lights!"

I make reflections with my rings - Vizzini likes to chase the sunspots.

    1. Thanks so much, Lorena! I like it in pictures more than I liked wearing it overall.

  2. You're a sight for sore eyes, Sheila, wearing all those lovely colours and textured. That origami shirt is a work of art! If you've worn this exact combination before, it's a sign that it's a winner! Aww, look at Vizzini's face in that last photo! xxx

    1. Aw, thank you, Ann! Everything the same but the trousers (and I wore the scarf as outerwear).

I know isn't he adorable? We had a good session of play after that.

    1. Yeah, I was kind of all over the place on this one, Anna. Not one of my favourites, shall we say! I was surprised at how much I liked these shoes.
