I don't know if it's possible for me to be dressed any more overtly girly than I was today.
Maybe a bow in my hair?- Jacket - Fake Gucci (Gookey!), thrifted; first worn here in October with purple plaid
- Blouse - Spense, consignment; last seen here for New Year's Eve last year
- Skirt - Maeve, thrifted; last worn here (4th outfit) in September with a whale of a sweater
- Shoes - Feet First; last seen here in August with bigass wide pants
- Coat (below) - Samuel Dong, thrifted; last worn here early this month
I very much enjoyed my outfit today - I liked all the colours and textures together, and the toughness of the lace bomber jacket contrasted with the ruffles and floral embroidery of the skirt.
I loved wearing this bright green jacket again, although it and the galaxy brooch fought all day for dominion over my armpit. I did like the jacket open this time, with the cascades of bright blue ruffles.
Any excuse to wear this pouf-tastic skirt again! It makes me happy.
No black or white or tan here. My neutrals are navy blue and bright blue.
No neutrals in my outerwear either. Bright turquoise for a Monday is a good mood-booster.
I popped on my purple wool beret right before I left the house - it was chilly out there!
- Beret (not shown) - consignment
- Scarf - Smoking Lily
- Gloves - Danier Leather
The stuff:
The fact that my shoes and my blouse matched made me happy. These are one of my oldest pairs of shoes, going on 8-9 years, I think. Still comfy and in really good shape (I hope that doesn't curse them!). I've never found a pair of perfect blue shoes better than these.
Broochy bling:
And then we add a mess of brooches to it! More brooches! The spiral galaxy brooch was just too heavy, but I liked the look of all three together.
- Spiral galaxy brooch - Sarah Coventry, vintage fair
- Sparkle brooch - The Bay, c. 2000
- Bug brooch - Le Chateau, c. 2007
- Earrings - thrifted
- Crystal ring - Uffizi Gallery, Florence
- Lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes
Gucci meets Etro and feel in love, and this outfit is the happy brilliant child!
ReplyDeleteCan you tell I love hits outfit!

Thank you!
DeleteLoved your weekend outfits. You amaze me with your fearless choices in culling items and in the creative mix you put together today. I always appreciate your effort and always look forward to these posts.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Chalotalo! I try to stay creative and to push my own limits.
DeleteGirly is good. This outfit sings like a pro. The skirt is a soprano with brio!
ReplyDeleteCon brio! Yes!
DeleteI totally love your girly outfit. The Gookey jacket is amazing, and so is that turquoise coat! No drab colours for you! Oh, and your brooches get my full approval as well. By coincidence, I'm wearing a similar galaxy brooch (I described it as "starburst") in my current post! I'm amazed at how pristine your oldest pair of shoes still look. How do you do it? xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you, my dear! No black today! Nice, I will pop over and check out your brooch! I don't ever wear my shoes outside unless it's less than a few blocks.
DeleteI love all of the colour in this outfit. Everything goes together so well and I am, as always, in awe at your ability to wear colours so well. I'm trying to be more adventurous in small ways, but 3 colours isn't always easy for me (I'm getting there, mainly by counting my bag as the third colour, ha!)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mica! It just all came together in this outfit for me (I'm back with neutrals today). Your bags totally count!
DeleteBeautiful style, i especially love that floral print and the skirt, it's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI can see how this outfit has such a cheering effect on your day Sheila. Yes, uber girly and why the heck not? It's fab, each and every piece - you look gorgeous! And hey, isn't your hair so long now!
ReplyDeleteAnna x
It did help, Anna! I love the girliness of it - so fun. I know, the hair is still growing.
DeleteThose shoes are wonderful. What a fun combination of colors in the outfit!
ReplyDeleteI'm picking up that you might be having a bit of a rough patch lately. All best to you. This time of year can be difficult for me, for Reasons, and your beautiful outfits always make me smile, so thank you!
Thank you, JS. Yes, you are correct - I'm in a low spot right now. Lol, yes, for REASONS.
DeleteA green lace bomber jacket? Yes, please! It looks fabulous and I do love the blue ruffley blouse and matching shoes with the skirt. Lots of brooches = lovely! A very girly outfit but you look fab...
ReplyDeleteIsn't it lovely? Thank you, Veronica!
DeleteThat green lace bomber is da bomb! And on pointe with the pouffy skirt. We all need to have some pouf every now and then. And I love that there is not a stitch of black in sight. And then that happy coloured coat - yes, colour is certainly a mood booster. Colour cheers me up and I wear as much as I can at this time of year.
