Another One Bites the Dust

After the one-off of yesterday's shirt, I was hopeful about today's outfit.
A nice simple silk blouse, a wool skirt and some lace-up booties. Easy!

  • Blouse - Kenneth Cole, thrifted; purchased here for $17.99
  • Skirt - Bianca, vintage 80s, thrifted; last worn here in January with that yeti coat again
  • Booties - Angelina Sopranos, Fluevog; last seen here in July due to an orange memo
  • Bomber jacket (below) - Danier Leather, thrifted? can't remember

I love this blouse, which is why I am crushed - it is pulling apart right down the back seam! You can't see too much of it here, but it's a goner. It has no stretch (curse you, 1990s!) and with all the movement that I do at work, it got more threadbare over the day. Sad!
Not a goner: the skirt. It's amazing, such wonderful quality. Love!

Outerwear:
I'm also giving up this white leather jacket. It's a little on the dingy side, plus I just don't love it, and hence, I don't wear it. And I need space in my coat closet - so away to a good home you shall go, leather jacket.

The stuff:
Awesome boots! Not going anywhere, thank you.

Simple bling:
Just to pick out the pops of red in the blouse.

  • Earrings - Tania Gleave
  • Ring - consignment

And now...off to watch election coverage! Good luck to my American friends!

  1. Yes, awesome boots, Sheila! Heart wrenching to have to say goodbye to favourite clothes, isn't it so hoping the parting isn't too painful. xx

    1. Well, I hadn't had time to get attached to the blouse(s), so it isn't too, too bad. Thank you, Elizabeth!

  2. It feels good to get rid of clothes and make room for more doesn't it? I'm really sorry about your shirt; it's beautiful and I think the colour combination is so unusual and subtle. It looked lovely on you.

I bought 5 new to me things today but managed to get rid of 4 so I'm feeling quite pleased with myself....

    Those red boots are fab!

    1. Well, it does when it's by choice, that's for sure! Thank you, Veronica - at least I have the pictures, right? Ooh, 5 in, 4 out is great - good on you!

  3. Love the boots! Pity about the shirt, though, as it's lovely. It's good to get rid of unloved items of clothing now and then. I just gave 4 bags to charity a couple of days ago ... xxx

    1. They are awesome boots. Happy to hear you're giving your "pre-loved" items away! I am amassing a big pile for my friends to go through before I do the same.

  4. So sorry to hear about that gorgeous shirt. You know the same thing happened to me yesterday while wearing a brocade skirt but I think if I loose the extra pounds I have I can keep it... until then I cannot wear it again !

    1. Thanks, Lorena! Gah, it's so hard when it's an item you really love!

  5. Those really are the most awesome boots - if I could jam my bunions into a pair of Fluevogs, that would be one of the styles I would try. Too bad about the blouse.

    1. This style has a LOT of toe room - you should try a pair on and see if they fit! Thanks, Shelley!

  6. Such a shame about the blouse my dear, but I have to say that the jacket was a good shout. It doesn't seem to do much for you at all, or maybe that was just because your body language (and that wave) were already saying goodbye. And the boots, the boots, the boots are lovely!

    1. Thanks, Anna! I loved the jacket for a while, but it's time for it to go. Thanks so much!
