I scheduled myself to do my online WW training tonight, as I have a very busy 3+ weeks ahead of me (as do most of you, I imagine!), but I went for dinner at a fabulous restaurant with my dear coworker friend Rekha after work, and indulged in two glasses of wine and much wonderful Italian food, so nope, screw that. Not gonna happen. I also have the last 200+ pages of my Book Club book to read tonight (doable, I've read 400+ pages in the last 2 nights).
I'm a bit of an overachiever wannabe. Go figure.
But let's talk clothes. This outfit got a lot of positive reactions today, which surprised me since it didn't get as strong a reaction as the first time I wore it. I think it's the tights.- Dress - Seduce, consignment; first worn here in August while I was being whiny
- Shoes - Esoteric Temptations Odette, Fluevog; last seen here way back in December 2015 with navy and chartreuse]
- Coat (below) - Borgeoiis, vintage 80s menswear, thrifted; purchased here for $15.00
The visual heaviness of the black sides and shoulders of the dress need the balance of the dark leg in order for this dress to look right to me.
So, a winter dress it is!
I quite liked my outerwear today.
Brim up! Pink gloves and scarf on! The hat is Liz Claiborne (thrifted) and the wool/angora pinks came as a set (thrifted).
The stuff:
My usual photo table is being used as a DM's desk |
Odds and sods bling:
Surprisingly, Vizzini did not go after the furry pin this morning.
- Fur brooch - Catawumpus
- Bangle and earrings - Glee
- Crystal ring - Uffizi Gallery gift shop
- Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes
He and I did have a nice cuddle on the gold chair, though. I gently set him aside and he settled down, but of course, he never sits still for long.
"Must you, Woman?" |
"Wait, is that fur on your dress?" |
I would have no ideas for those shoes Sheila - as much as I admire your shoe collection and tastes I have very boring footwear! Hope you get better inspiration from another reader :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with getting everything done too! I agree December is such a busy month, but busy in a good way :)
I'll figure out something, thanks, Mica. Such a crazy time of year!
DeleteI love this outfit and the dress definitely looks like stained glass! The tights suit the dress perfectly. As for the shoes they remind me very much of 'flapper' shoes from the 1920s so how about a 1920s type outfit to go with them?
ReplyDeleteYour outerwear looks very chic and warm...
Have a great weekend
Veronica
Thank you, Veronica! Ooh, I like the idea of a flapper-ish outfit. I'll have to see what I have...
DeleteHappy weekend to you!
Yes, you've struck the perfect balance with the black tights and likewise with the contrasting accessories against the grey coat this time too. Love it all x

Thank you! Glad you approve. ;-P
DeleteI agree that the dress needs a black leg - you could wear a jacket over it as well if the fabric weight is more summer than winter (maybe a denim jacket?). I have no suggestions for the shoes but I liked the one that Veronica made.
ReplyDeleteYup, I think it's firmly in the winter wardrobe now.
DeleteAdding the tights indeed creates a needed balance.
ReplyDeleteMonsieur Vizzini look quite comfortable - reminds me of some furry gals at home who do the same.
I agree, and yes, Mister Vizzini pretty much rules his domain.
