Today was the kind of day that makes me want to bonk my head on my desk. So many "GAH!" things happened today.
My coworkers look at me strangely when I start making inarticulate gurgling noises. Good thing I looked like a good corporate worker-bee today. Except for the hair. Not quite sure what happened there.- Blazer - Talbots, thrifted; first worn here in October, very lavender-y
- Shirt - Tommy Hilfiger, thrifted; last seen here in July with a fab skirt
- Skirt - Mexx, consignment; purchased here on the weekend for $20.98
- Shoes - Poetic Licence; last worn here in January with a floofy shirt and a strapless dress
- Coat (below) - Parkhurst, thrifted
We had some VIPs at work, so I dressed a little more conservatively. Well, except for that purple hair. Can't do much about that!
I loved this skirt - so pretty! It had great movement as well.
And my favourite shoes, which I don't wear very much. They are starting to show their age - I've had them since December 2008 (here), which for me is a long time!
Outerwear:
Same as yesterday, not being very creative! I keep waiting for us to get a cold snap, but it's still quite mild. I have all these wintery coats I want to wear, but I won't rush chilly weather just yet.
The stuff:
Such awesome shoes. I hope they never fall apart, and I never get tired of them. Not any chance of that right now!
Sparkly bling:
A mismatched set, but they go together.
- Earrings - late 90s
- Pin - The Bay
- Bracelet - Myka
Vizzini was watching me get ready to leave this morning.

I love those shoes too! I hope they last you a long time too :)

Me too!!
DeleteYou surely look very business like in that outfit. Fabulous shoes! xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you, ma'am!
Delete*smiling* I find it very amusing that your description of this outfit as conservative (and, for you, it is) reveals how innovative and interesting your style is. For non-Sheilas, this would be an edgy, adventurous effort.
ReplyDeleteHee hee, yes, I certainly couldn't pull this off in some corporate environments - gotta love IT for that. That is such a nice compliment - thank you, Ally!
DeleteYou look like a modern day '50s teeny-bobber with the swooshy skirt and modern interpretation of saddle shoes. I love your outfit.
ReplyDeleteLove it, thank you, Sandra!
DeleteThis is a fab look Sheila. The skirt looks lovely, but yes, the shoes are still the star of the show. They've done well to stay in favour with you for so long. I have to agree with Shybiker on the use of the word conservative - yes worth a chuckle x

I don't think shoes get much cooler than these. :) Ha, I know. Just call me normal.
DeleteI love your worker-bee outfit, Sheila, it toes the line (somewhat, for you) but the colour palette and pattern play AND THEM HEELS still speak volumes of how unique you are. I heart.
ReplyDeleteOn the blog today, I'm talking about the hush-hush topic of self-love. Yup. Me, myself and I. I'd love for you to come over and weigh in, and share your thoughts. It's interesting to note that despite it being the 21st century, and we're preaching confidence and empowerment, the subject still remains somewhat risque.

Thanks, Sheela! I love your article and have contributed my comments. Heh, unlike some of your readers, I knew exactly where you were going here. :)
DeleteThe purple bee looks awesome and those shoes don't look a day old.
ReplyDeleteI have vps in the office too..
Those VPs, such a pain. Thanks, Lorena!
DeleteLove the outfit! The skirt, and shoes are so fabulous. Love the color of the jacket, yes, professional , if not perfectly corporate.
ReplyDeleteI am having a GAH day too, wanting to bang my head, but that will only give me a migraine. Ergh.
gorgeous bling too, love how they work together for major sparkle!

Thank you, Elle! I hope your own inner and outer sparkle elevated your day!
DeletePlease don't rush the winter weather! I just moved to Victoria from Toronto and am enjoying the fact that I got to pack all my winter coats away. :)
ReplyDeleteHa, don't worry, I don't think it's going to be too cold here. Welcome to Victoria, Rachel! Let me know if you ever want to meet up. :)
DeleteThis look is really good. Being more conservative, I would love to wear this. The shoes are indeed awesome. I'd buy them instantly.

Aw, thank you!
