I've been wanting to do another Wonder Woman outfit for a while, since the last one (here).
This one is not quite so literal (I forwent the WW t-shirt this time, although I was tempted to wear it under my shirt and reveal it a la Supergirl).- Blouse - Michael Kors, thrifted; first worn here in September as a power colour
- Skirt - Andre Courrege, thrifted; last seen here way back in November 2015 with all the colours
- Shoes - Calvin Klein; last worn here (3rd outfit) in October with Versace mom jeans
- Coat (below) - Hilary Radley, thrifted back here in October 2015 for $34.95
This was my view from the stairs this morning.
Isn't the castle pretty?
Most people caught on that I was doing a Wonder Woman tribute. I got all the colours, plus the shiny copper (not gold).
I had issues with this blouse last time I wore it, but I was able to figure out the cuffs (which like to unroll) and I also tucked it into my control top nylons to keep it from a-slippin' and a-slidin' all over the place.
I can't believe I haven't worn this skirt in over a year! However, I recall that I broke the button off (at the waistband) last time I wore it, and I'm incredibly lazy at clothing repairs, and this skirt does get packed away over the summer. So there's my excuse right there.
A couple of nights ago I spent a few minutes rooting around in my button tin for a replacement button and sewed it back on (thank you, Brownies and Girl Guides!). I left the thread from the previous button just because this is ANDRE COURREGES, you guys. That thread is designer! Go read about him here (Wikipedia) and find out about this amazing creator, who we lost in 2016 (thanks again, 2016).
Oh, and yes, of course this whole outfit was created to showcase this fabulous belt. Allow me to show off the back of it here.
I absolutely have to wear that chain/button detail in the front next time.
Yay! It was cold enough today to break out the Unsafe Ocelot coat!
My bestie, Janet spotted (pun intended) me on the way to work - like you could miss me in this! I'm also wearing a thrifted Danier fur scarf, and elbow-length brown leather gloves (cashmere lined) by Club Monaco (consignment). It was too warm by the end of the day to wear the scarf/gloves, but I relished this gorgeous jacket.
The stuff:
I considered doing the copper shoes, but thought that the red made more of a cohesive statement for WW.
Copper bling:
This is all by Renoir, all vintage, from the early to mid-60s. Except for a bronze ring.
- Belt - vintage fair (first wearing!)
- Large cuff - Grandma J's, had since the mid-80s
- "Leaf" bracelet - thrifted
- "Bean" bracelet and earrings - vintage fair
- Shield ring - vintage fair
- Bronze ring - P. Sarpaneva, vintage 70s
- Necklace - vintage fair
Great outfit to showcase your new belt :)
