Sheila's Shoe Shine #11

Shoe Shine is on!
Get your kicks by showing your kicks!
It's time to shine - Shoe Shine, that is!

I'm featuring a pair of shoes that I haven't worn in a while. I look at them, I don't wear them, and then when I do, I'm all like, "Wow, these are such awesome shoes! Why don't I wear them more?"
They are a green-y grey colour (more green than in these pictures), are leather and are by Hilary Radley. I got them at a consignment store that I used to take my clothes to for trade-in. The store carried (and still carries) a lot of cheap junk, to be frank. When I saw these in the window, they stuck out like a sore thumb. They were rather more ladylike than most of the stock around them.

I don't remember how much they were, but I probably used store credit on them.
I love the little rhinestone buckle on top and the printed darker green-y grey snakeskin texture trim. They are surprisingly comfortable for having a heel that high! That's what you get with good-quality shoes: comfort and a balanced heel.

I will actually have worn these by the time this post goes up (I write the Shoe Shine posts and schedule them to post on time, clever me)!

What I wanted to say is that I'd SO like to join in the Shoe Shine! Emergency hip replacement in March and a knee replacement this past Tuesday leave me LONGING for some stylish but sensible shoes. I've been given a few "leads" to various internet sources, but so far have found them a little disappointing. Wondering WHY someone doesn't come up with some great looking shoes for us Boomers :)

  3. I admire your ability to find such interesting unique shoes!

I am joining in with a good all-last-winter-tested pair of suede purple Dansko's - they are as comfy as baby shoes, and I love their color!

  4. I could use the same quote, of looking, not wearing, and then when I do wondering why I haven't. What's with that? I went back to the vault to post my never-going-away boots.
